I love doing a one handed backhand down the line.

But the best one, umm, forehand down the line and backhand crosscourt.

Re: Your Favourite Shot?

My favorite shot and it's fairly new as of only a few years ago, is the swing volley. Might have other names. In singles I'm usually not all the way up at the net (due to fear); so I take anything I can in the air and put it away using a side swing. Yes like Maria. I love it.

Re: Your Favourite Shot?

Mine is my forehand. I just recently switched to a full western and man the topspin is crazy. If its not my forehand then it's my double backhand which I can always rely on.

I like to play against net players. I'm not good with volleying (although I am working on it) I do rip some pretty nasty forehands when they hit short balls. The look on their faces when it shoots past them is priceless. Plus i'm more of an agressive baseliner (i still need to work on my angles) I hit the ball with top spin straight back to them push them further and further behind the baseline and when the time is right i send in a forehand volley dropshot for the win. Since they are net players they get tripped up when they play me because they can't really do what they want. I'm talking about my two buddies by the way. They love to play net and they hate playing me haha. I haven't had a chance to play any other net players. The season is not here yet. But me and my friends are rookie-intermediate. I know it won't be so easy if I play other people. But I hope to experience more of a variety of playing styles.

Re: Your Favourite Shot?

I think my favourite shot is double-handed crossing backhand with an angle very tight

I love it when the opponent thinks they're being clever, and goes after your "weak" backhand slice. They don't realise most of the time you're actually the one working them around, and pegging them back with the slice is a great feeling, setting up for that big topspin drive down the line.

Single handed backhand always > double hander

Re: Your Favourite Shot?

Bekhand slice and bekhand dropshot, as I've been hitting my bekhand onehanded since i started to play tennis many years ago, so i developed nice touch on the bekhand, many players underestimate the slice, of course it can be exposed easily if it is too short or your opponent knows how to play agianst it, but i love the slice, too many palyers lose it easily and tehy don't know how to react on it, cause few players use it efficiently today...

As i play mostly on clay, dropshoting is a must, of the bekhand wing it is a beauty shot, hard to read, if my opponent has a weak first or second serve i even try to hit a dropshot of the return, it is a nice weapon, cause it comes out of nowhere....

Alla ricerca di un piccolo grande amore....

My thoughts exactly! It´s a nice feeling hitting that slice and waiting for the opportunity. Also, the slice gives you a nice, soft touch to the ball. Great shot!

Re: Your Favourite Shot?

Yep. I've been developing a slice-forehand game and I'm loving it.

Also it sets up some nice topspin backhands down the line, when your opponent thinks you can only hit slices...

Haha, that's quite funny if you're being serious! It would definitely throw the opponent's concentration if you came out hitting nothing but slice on the forehand, and then topspin backhands, it would feel to them like they're playing a lefty or some kind of Santoro wizardry going on.

Re: Your Favourite Shot?

No no, I meant backhand slices and topspin forehands, a la Petzschner. Should've been more specific.

But the forehand slice sure has its usefulness. Sometimes I throw a chip and charge with a forehand slice to put the opponent off guard.
