Touche, Not even kidding I feel rather down about myself. Thanks a lot. You did however make some conclusions that weren't true. I was upset about wind conditions, but did not yell about it, I was yelling at my inability to overcome something (since clearly my opponoent was), and as for taunting my opponent, trust me I know the downside to that (bad calls etc) I only yell such things if my opponent is being a particularly large douchebag. And as a point of clarification I do not get mad when losing to someone legitimatley, like when they are outplaying me, when I outplay myself however is when I get enraged. Hope I bolstered at least a little of your belief in American youth?

Re: Ever thrown a tantrum on court?

Not many people know this, but even Borg used to have major tantrums. I heard that one time his coached punched him in the locker room and he never complained again....

Tantrums are fun to watch - there should be a tv show of them.

Re: Ever thrown a tantrum on court?

I was playing a junior tournament in Dallas. It was the second round and I won the first set 6-0. In the second set I drank way to much between sets so I lost the 1st game. Then after a few close line calls from my opponet. I asked him "are you sure" which led to "Are you kidding me" which led to "Now way, let me see a ball mark." This was the worst conduct I have ever had on court, and to this day I still fell so bad. Also one time I there a rwacket and broke it into abut 1000000000000 pieces.

Re: Ever thrown a tantrum on court?

When I played my first match against my friend I cussed a few times when I made reeeaaallllyyyy bad serves or kept hitting the ball out of bounds. Ever since then I wised up and told myself its pointless to do that. I put my anger into my serve and volley's now. Yesterday I was doin bad. Took a deep breath and put the anger in the serve and got out 4 ace's in a row.

Never broken a racket though since I'm broke and cant afford a new one yet lol

Re: Ever thrown a tantrum on court?

I have noticed recently that I've stopped berating myself and throwing my racket into the net, but have replaced these with hitting the occasional ball into the fence and hitting myself with the racket .

No, I have (accidentally) hit myself with the frame of the racket twice, i didn't bleed but it does hurt! I usually hit myself on the (right) leg, rarely on the head.

Re: Ever thrown a tantrum on court?

I played against someone who kept raking his knuckles across his strings in frustration whenever he missed a shot. Had to shake hands left handed after the match as his right hand was covered in blood

Re: Ever thrown a tantrum on court?

I say FREAK! alot when I mess up and then smile and laugh at myself after I say it. Other than that when I get really frustrated I become silent and just feel like giving up (which I do). I finish the game but I give no effort. I'm working on it though.
