Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

Under normal circumstances Thiemo should take this one, but New Haven is a tournament with quite some upsets normally.

C'mon Thiemo!

Thiemo into the SF of New Haven! Solid victory over Korolev: 64 63. Anyone saw any parts of the match?

Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

I had Thiemo in the 3rd round, but with Soderling struggling I'm hoping to bump that up to 4th round, and if he can beat Soderling he can definitely beat Cilic, so QF it is.

hmmm as much as i would like, i dont see that really happening. de bakker hasn't the game (yet) to hurt soderling on a fast hardcourt.

Would you have said that Haider-Maurer has the game to beat him? I agree that de Bakker isn't at that level, but form is what matters in this sport, and Soderling is not on it right now. A lot can happen in a week though, so we'll see.

Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

Let's just focus on the match against Dodig. He lost against Dodig last year in a challenger. He made some serious progress though this year, but I'm still not entirely convinced on his form.

Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

His form is pretty good. Very easy win against Gicquel and he had a semi-final in New Haven. Also won before against Lopez and Monaco.
Although I don't like the way he plays very much lately. Too far behind the baseline and too defensive.

Tsonga - Wawrinka - Del Potro - Gasquet - F.Lopez - Monfils - Haas - Janowicz - Youzhny - Tomic - Hewitt - Gulbis - Mahut - Haase - Schoorel - Sijsling - Huta Galung - De Bakker - Van der Duim - Westerhof - Middelkoop - Koolhof - Lootsma - S&T. Griekspoor - Sels - Van Rijthoven

All time: Safin - Schalken - Krajicek - Sluiter - Verkerk - Henman - Ivanisevic - Nalbandian - Ferrero - Philippoussis - Sampras - Siemerink - Blake - F.Gonzalez - Ancic - Haarhuis/Eltingh

Still supporting all the Dutchies despite their great choking skills
Looking forward to the Dutch Futures and Challengers this summer!
