Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

Hey guys, I recorded a few points and some warmup of de Bakker when I was at the Rogers Cup. If you guys want to watch, you can go to my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/deoinferno291

I'm thinking of going to a lot of tournaments, and recording a lot of points, so if you guys can subscribe and comment and etc that would be great

Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

Thiemo def Juan Monaco (ARG) (ATP: 31) 6-4 6-7 (5) 6-3

Could have closed it the 2nd or at 5-1 in the 3rd. But luckily he won in the end

Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

Thiemo got a very favourable draw in New Haven. As the twelfth seed he gets a bye to the 2nd round. The first seed he'll come up against is 8, Florian Mayer, which he should win. Then in the quarters where it should be Fish, I'm hoping Fish will pull out because of his good week in Cincinnati. His semi-final seed, Marcos Baghdatis, also had a good week in Cincinnati, so could also be pulling out.

Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

Just as I hoped Fish pulled out, so now hopefully Thiemo has an easy road to the semi-finals

Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

looking at the draw now id guess his quarter final opponent would be michael berrer which is a winnable match for him

semi final possibility is also a very winnable match whoever it is, most likely stakhovskiy although andreev could also suprise. I dont think baghdatis has enough gas left to get that far but if he does thiemo should be able to beat him

and this is going out on a very long shot but if he wins all of thos matches and gets to the final then i would guess the most likely opponent is between istomin, belluci, dologopolov and gonzalez..i'll guess dologopolov though

he has a good chance at the title here for sure now

Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

I don't see him getting past Mayer. The form he showed last week in Cincy was very poor for Thiemo's standards. Hope I'm wrong on my prediction, but I don't think he'll go far in this tournament..

Re: Thiemo de Bakker Cheering Thread

Thiemo def Kukushin (ATP: 86) 6-1 6-7 (6) 6-4

Tough match that was.

3rd round vs Florian Mayer (GER, 8) (ATP: 44) who easily def Jan Hajek (ATP: 82) 6-3 6-1 in less than an hour.
