Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread

Robin will not be accepting a WC for Rotterdam, his knee has still not recovered enough and he doesn't feel he's ready for playing at such a high level tournament. The WC will now go to Jesse Huta Galung.
Hope Robin will be able to play again soon

Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread

More bad news, I'm getting tired of only reading bad news in regard to Robin's injuries. During the past week he's had problems with his knee again, he's still not sure when he'll be able to make his return to the tour. He's considering taking cortisone shots to stop the inflamation in his knee, which doesn't sound very encouraging to me since I remember Sharapova taking similar shots for her shoulder for almost two years and her shoulder is still bothering her.

Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread

I'm sick of sad news about Robin, I'm ready to hear some good news in the next few weeks (fingers crossed)

Anyway, I found this little clip on the Rotterdam website Robin is around 2:30

Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread

Nice clip, thanks for the link I saw Robin walking around Ahoy a couple of times last week, he was also sitting in Nadal's box with uncle Toni during Nadal's match with Tsonga I think
I don't want to be reading any bad news anmore either, I think I'll only post positive news about Robin, which hopefully there will be plenty of soon

It could have been the match against Bolleli as well. I'm getting old, memory isn't what it used to be

Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread

So I was just wondering about something and I thought you might know...
In that article on the previous page it sayd that Robin lived in Germany when he was young and I know his sister is a German teacher and I think I remember reading somewhere that his father is German (not sure about that one though). Was Robin raised bilangual? So is he fluent in German?

Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread

Any updates about Robin's situation with knee?
I start to believe that the problem is starting to be his menthal preparation .
And that could be huge, huge problem.
Many professional athletes which competed at the highest level, after this type of injury never came back to the level played before the injury.

I would really like to see him back on track, last year at his time he looked like serious contender for top30, and now he so far away....

C'mon Robin

Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread

I came across this article this morning, it's quite long and in Dutch so I didn't feel like translating. But in the article Robin's coach Dennis Schenk talks a bit about what he's been doing since Robin's been out with injury and also about his coaching relationship with Robin. Thought it was a rather interesting read.

I didn't read the whole story but the coach likes to see Robin play more aggressive. He is tall, has a good serve and can be a good attacking player. The coach advises Robin also to look more to players like Ancic.

Tsonga - Wawrinka - Del Potro - Gasquet - F.Lopez - Monfils - Haas - Janowicz - Youzhny - Tomic - Hewitt - Gulbis - Mahut - Haase - Schoorel - Sijsling - Huta Galung - De Bakker - Van der Duim - Westerhof - Middelkoop - Koolhof - Lootsma - S&T. Griekspoor - Sels - Van Rijthoven

All time: Safin - Schalken - Krajicek - Sluiter - Verkerk - Henman - Ivanisevic - Nalbandian - Ferrero - Philippoussis - Sampras - Siemerink - Blake - F.Gonzalez - Ancic - Haarhuis/Eltingh

Still supporting all the Dutchies despite their great choking skills
Looking forward to the Dutch Futures and Challengers this summer!
