Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

Thanks (merci ) Soulage, very interesting I didn't know the start of his carreer and about his future plans.

yes he plays in Lille and is in the quarterfinals against De Schepper, a tough QF, as De Schepper has had a very good start of the year.

it may be the key match of the week

Other former top-100 Odesnik and Levine also play futures in America this week although they didn't reach top-50 like Marc Gicquel.

useless old guy

He won Lille, let's hope he can make it back to the top100.

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

Futures is maybe a good way to find confidence he's playing another french future this week in Poitiers. As it's in france it's not a problem for him but i hope he will find soon the upper level. In Poitiers Future this week you have Gicquel, Haider-Maurer and Ouanna. Anyway Marco is the big favorite to win it.

Quote:

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

Great job winning both futures, Marc! That's over 50 points gained in 2 weeks! Are these 15K + hospitality or just regular 15K's? If they are 15K+H that would be like 70 points. In any case, he should gain 20+ positions in the rankings. This is a great start to hopefully good performances in challengers and a top 100 position.

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

Thank you so much, you always have the info on the Frenchies

Saturday, so only one more day to wait. I hope he gets a good draw, and can do some damage. With so little to defend these next months, US Open MD direct should be a goal for Marco.

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

Thierry said the goal was to enter again the top 60 before the end of his career. I found that quite crazy I mean he's 34 years old as all veterans guy his ranking at the end of the year could be decisiv to continu or not.
He's in Estoril QD and play a Tapei guy first.

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

That is definitely ambitious, but it's good that he set such a goal, because it means he's going to be extra motivated and work extra hard to achieve it. I can see top 80-110 consistently, I'd be surprised at top 60. He doesn't play a physical game so that helps him. Hopefully he plays one of these last 3 majors, if not all 3.

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

Marco won 7-5 in the third today over Yang from Taipei. Great serving stats. Now he plays a Spaniard Sergio Gutierrez-Ferrol in QR2.

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

Marc lost to ERV in the final round of Estoril and now plays in a challenger in Rome this upcoming week. He plays Alessio Di Mauro in R1. Hope he has a good result.

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

Marco lost 4-6 6-2 4-6 to Di Mauro. He got a WC into Bordeaux and plays Lukas Rosol in R1. He has a good draw so hopefully he can put together a good week in France.
