Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

I guess some of you already know that if you're following Marc very closely, but I just discovered a few days ago that Marc is posting in person on the French board "Tennis Culture". Check this thread if you're interested, his nickname is "Marco":

He gives a lot of news, answers the questions...

Hey thanks a lot for that info, I knew the site but had no idea about it's board. A great reading

Good luck to Marc, hope he'll get his WC for Metz tournament.

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

Potier about Marc today in L'Équipe (I already posted his comments about Gilles and Florent in the other threads since they all have the same coach):
Quote:
http://www.lequipe.fr/Tennis/BERCY_POTIER_1006.html

Marc has been working with the others for 6 months only, after having trained on his own for a while: "He's the most normal one [take a look at what he says about Florent and you'll understand why he says that!] He's been improving nicely, it's the maturity, the marriage. He's always been a very good tennis player, he has a perfect body for tennis. Thank you daddy, thank you mum. I think it's a question of genes. He maintains it well too because he's a hard worker, but he has the perfect physique. And he plays well, he's got great shots. He can do everything on every surface. He serves very well. He's a fighter. He's much easier to coach now than a few years ago. It was difficult at that time. Rodolphe Gilbert often tells this story: a few years ago, Marc lost a match because somebody at the other end of the crowd made some noise with a plastic cup and it took Marc completely out of his match..."

Marc def. Seb 7-5, 1-6, 7-6(5)

Great result

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

Will he get a SE spot for the main draw in Bercy now? He was supposed to play the qualies.

I was disappointed he didn't get a WC the other day, it was obvious he's in great form.

Re: ~~Marc Gicquel~~

OK, I was too late with my question, he got the 3rd WC anyway.
(I'd be interested in some explanations about the SE spots though!)

He'll play Wawrinka in the 1st round.
