Re: Adrian Mannarino Cheering Thread

Adrian is playing now on Court 6, there's a livestream on TTC that you can watch if you use an American *roxy

Just saved three BPs allez.

Not a good match for Adrian, he just can't deal with the wind. Robredo is solid.

Re: Adrian Mannarino Cheering Thread

His game is in an even worse state than I was assuming, but he is even cuter than in my memories.

*3-0, despite an awesome dropshot of Adrian!

Re: Adrian Mannarino Cheering Thread

The knee isn't strapped anymore, btw.
But I doubt we will have a post-match interview the way things are going...

A video with just the winners would be a thing of beauty, his dropshots are gorgeous.

!

It's amazing how he can play so poorly for such a long stretch, conjure several consecutive amazing shots from out of nowhere, and then go back to brainfarting. Allez!

Holy crap, it's windy

I find that fascinating too. The amazing shots sure come out of nowhere!

How many DF did he hit in that game? Oh boy...

Oh my God he broke serve I will sell my firstborn if he manages to win this match, but that last game was entertaining as hell, anyway.

http://www.lequipe.fr/Tennis/breves2...mannarino.html

He was very disappointed after the match. He couldn't deal with Robredo's topspin. He wishes the conditions would have been a bit faster like last week. Robredo was really solid, which forced him to take risks, hence the many errors (34 in 23 games).
He will now play a Challenger on grass, a surface he likes. And he will play the Wimbledon qualies.
No mention of the knee. He hasn't won a match in a Slam yet. Last year in RG he was too tense, although he had quite an easy draw (Junqueira).

Re: Adrian Mannarino Cheering Thread

Thanks for the article.

I managed to miss the match unfortunately (selfishly hoped it would rain longer than it ended up doing ). So, is any of it worth watching back?I hear talk of great dropshots.

Onwards to Nottingham CH and grass. Always a good thing for me anyway.

Q. You must have so many different emotions going through your head. Was it like a rollercoaster for you?
STANISLAS WAWRINKA: Yeah, yeah, it's quite crazy..I never expect to win a Grand Slam.
I never dream about that because for me, I was not good enough to beat those guy.

Maybe the sky will fall?

Re: Adrian Mannarino Cheering Thread

No, don't watch it for the 4 dropshots lost in the middle of this errors fest!
The penultimate game wasn't bad, if you want to watch just a few minutes to see how he looked out there. I don't remember the few other games worth watching, there really were not many.

Re: Adrian Mannarino Cheering Thread

And in L'Equipe, harsh title (= he shouldn't be invited - he won 14 games in total in the 3 Slams where he got a wild-card):

He says that he was plain poor last year because he was putting himself too much under pressure, but he's feeling better now, even if it's hard to say that after such a hammering, he's improving, he's better in the rallies. There were several close games, but Robredo was always there in the key moments. Robredo is just much stronger than him, tough client on clay. "It's a long road to reach the top level..."

I can upload the video if somebody missed the match and badly wants to see it.

Re: Adrian Mannarino Cheering Thread

Ouch He's had a shitty draw in the AO and this current RG though. Verdasco last time and Robredo on clay is definitely no pushover.
