i'm much the same with players, i usually discover the less 'famous' ones if they play a big match in a big tournament.

Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~

A short summary of what has been going on lately.

After losing in Beijing Nico lost his first round matches in Metz, Moscow and Basel and Q1 matches in Madrid and Paris

Meanwhile he ends his season at his best doubles ranking ever (#212 this week). He's currently #71 in singles but will probably lose a few more positions since he has some more points to defend from the last year when he was playing Challengers almost until the end of November.

In Basel Nico was interview by a French journalist with a weird sense of humour who assumed that Nicolas has claustrophobia and that's why he can't win a match indoor. Nico himself told that he knows that it's important to be able to play indoor but he can't simply feel any pleasure while doing it. Though he thinks it's rather a question of confidence. In his last match on clay this year he lost to Serra while he was up 6-3 5-3 and had a match ball. And this loss really hurt him.

More details and pictures are here as usually.

Hope everyone is fine

next year beijing should be a more important tournament, attracting more top players (we can assume from its promoted status, and the new 'asian swing' as a whole). so yeah it should worth the while to organise a trip to go there while the tennis is on

my plans are never guaranteed, hehe... but hopefully will see you

Hey Irina, you should see the Doha Suicide Tennis thread - 83% of people believed in Nico in the first round! I think he would be quite glad to see it

I guess those people haven't read an article that mentioned a little boy who made Nico sweat at an exhibition event a couple of weeks ago, and surely they haven't heard that last week he lost to a Top 400 player (Not to mention that Nico's last win on tour was in August).
Have your teachers finally noticed how good at math you are? And who is Raffaella, BTW? The one who's post is two posts after yours in that thread.
Maria, check your mailbox later today (or rather tonight), I think I have a couple of stories to share with you

Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~

Yeah, they haven't probably. But well, maybe he warmed up a little bit finally. My teachers? No, they haven't, but I finally like Maths. Heh, I can't say who is Raffaella, she wouldn't be happy to be revealed

OK, I'll check tomorrow. Now loads of pages of Anatomy awaiting me.

Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~

I saw Nico practicing twice yesterday Once shirtless and one with shirt... I have photos from both

I have one photo in particular which I'm very happy with... but I can't share it until I get home after the 27th

Wish I could write more now but I'm off to the tennis again now
