I was just thinking. Maybe the "surprise" Forget was referring to would be replacing Seb/Richard with Paulo in the 4th/5th rubber.

It crossed my mind too. He makes a lot of comparisons with last year 1st round against Sweden, when Paulo won his 2 single matches (including the rubber).
I don't know what to think about that True that Paulo won his 2 matches against Haas but the german is on fire at the moment.

... kezzi, have fun in germany
Thanks, I sure will. I'm really excited about my first DC visit ever and to my fav team . I really wanted to go when I heard that the French team were playing in Germany, it's like 4 hours away by train. But I think that's as close as I can get in couple of years, because a DC visit in Holland is really expensive in my opinion (I'm a student ).

4 hours is a long way, i suppose train tickets aren't expensive comparatively...?

anyway, for a first round match, this should be a good one, with plenty of fire and sparks possible

According to Pariss, Francis Gasquet was seen watching Golovin's match and that match only!

It takes also 4 hours to get from the south of Holland (Limburg, where I live ) all the way up to Groningen .
Nord-Rhein Westfalen is like our German neighbour, but by train we'll travel a much longer way than if we'd go by car, because it stops at lots of places. The faster trains (ICE, etc.) are a lot more expensive and it's still 3 hours, so I'd rather travel an hour longer for less money .

Re: ~Davis Cup 2006: 1st round against Germany~

i need a map of europe lol

love those pics... so the davis cup team all squashed themselves together inside a little passageway to watch golovin play... guess that's the kind of team spirit that fabrice couldn't handle

now i recall another pic some time back when they squeezed into the same chair...

There are rumours about Benhabilés (Golovin's coach since last november if I remember well) and her stopping to work together. It seems they don't get along with each other... Exactly what happened to Richard when he stopped being coached by Tarik and came back to train with his father.
So, is it a coincidence?

Apparently, these were only rumours...

Here's an interview of Golovin which confirms this is not true:

(BTW, I find her new hair color doesn't suit her at all )

Allez la France quand même, ça va être difficile... (même si je serais vraiment étonnée s'ils s'en sortent )
