Re: ~Davis Cup 2006~

Friday's L'Equipe article about this 2006 World Group DC draw:

And Kiefer and Haas are actually both ex top 5 players: Haas' career-high ranking was n° 3 in in January 8th 2001; he's now ranked 39 and Kiefer's career-high ranking was n°4 in February 21th 2000; he's now at the 36th spot...

Translations? Any Frenchie ready to give it a try?...

Re: ~Davis Cup 2006~

Don't be afraid of Russia losing. I think they have a good chance of winning from Holland, because almost all of our best players usually are injured at the time of DC and the tie will be in Amsterdam and Sluiter hates Amsterdam. He said it would be his first 'away game' in The Netherlands itself

But knowing that doesn't stop me from wanting Holland to win, not so much because I am from Holland though . My reasons are that I can't stand Safin (sorry for the fans, but I am entitled to my own opinion ) and that France will be shown on Dutch tv, so I have a chance to see my fav country in action .

I don't think that's what they fear. 'afraid' is not the perfect word to say the least.

Re: ~Davis Cup 2006~

How could they lose with such a Mascot?
Do you think that he's called Diomède like the one of the rugby team?

1ER TOUR C. DAVIS 2006 ALLEMAGNE/FRANCE

Nothing on L'Équipe.fr, Sport24.fr etc... so far.

Tonight there's also a France vs. Germany in football right now.

But i'm for Germany in that since neither Giuly or Zizou (Thuram is but ...still) are playing.

Halle in Nord Rhein Westfalen or the other Halle?

edit: Never mind, it says Halle/Westphalie in the article you posted
I'm happy now, because I live really close to that part of Germany

Í ddn't mean it in the way that they really have to be afraid, I meant it more in a 'I don;t think Russia's going to lose' way . But I'm not really good in expressing myself in English .

Yeah, it's especially sad for the really die-hard Holland fans I'm always for France in the DC .

Raemon Sluiter is from Rotterdam and I don't know how to explain it really well. But mostly the people from Rotterdam and Amsterdam don't get along really well, don't know the exact reason, but I believe it has something to do with the soccerclubs Feyenoord (Rotterdam) and Ajax (Amsterdam). And Raemon is a big Feyenoord fan .

Re: ~Davis Cup 2006~

Just a piece of interview of Seb done during the PNB Paribas Masters. It seems he wants to be back in the DC team...

I am happy to hear there are no problems between them

Re: ~Davis Cup 2006~

From FFT.fr
This is an extract from a Santoro interview. It seems that he could be back in the team...

Forcément, je me mets à disposition.
