Even if he defeated Paulo in the quarters :( I think he deserves a thread as he reaches his first final... :)
He beat Pavel in the semis 6-7 (5) 6-2 6-3 :yeah:
And he will play Andreev in the final.
Good luck Florent :worship:

sorry for this terrible off topic (btw i'm sure you're having great time in St Petersburg and i'm goddamn jealous no matter i'll be in Aachen nxt week) but wasn't their coach Polish by any chance? i know one great great coach who worked with the Swedish stars but the Norwegians gave him a good offer to build up the local tennis and he agreed. but i dunno if he's still working there!
I'll answer but little bit late, ok? Anyway I don't think he is Polish, at least i talked to him in Norwegian...

Yesterday I was too sad, angry, mad and tired to write anything. Now I have some minutes and the first thing I want to write is about that Serra-Vik match. So listen. Vik did everything good, it wan’t his fault. Florent did everything great and he had to win. I sat there and cheered Florent and the crowd was also on his side. BUT there were several men who came to the tribune (the game was on the first court – quite a little one) and sat behind me and a little bit higher. They all bet on Robin Vik although they didn’t even know his name, they called him Roberto, they didn’t know anything about tennis either. Those dudes began to shout many stupid things about frogeaters and other stuff – in Russian... But they did it so loud then I think those on the central court could hear them sometimes. And that was the beginning only. Then one of those idiots began to shout “out” during the games, when the ball was in game! The umpire – another idiot, pardon – gave to those russians two warnings and... nothing more!!! Those bastards continued to make their monkey business... There was the beginning of the third set when those asses created another absolutely awful feature. When Flo served the idiots started to make any stupid sounds – seneezing, barking, sizzling etc. That was wrong even for me who just sat and supported Serra and I can imagine how wrong it was for Florent... Finally I decided to wait the end of the current game then stand up and begin to argue with umpire. Seriously. But I thought there was 4-3 but really don’t know why there were 5-4 Vik led and began to serve. So even me had a bad luck... And the umpire, by the way, did two mistakes in the first set – but Florent didn’t become mad, he just looked at umpire and said “be more carefull!”. So well... the result of the match you know. The only thing in my head was “I hate russians”. Florent and his coach were quite lost themselfes and agreed about russians and “trop fou”. And fortunately I’m writing this story now when I’m quite calm, not yesterday when I was absolutely mad – then you’ll see only “merde, putain, trop fou, trop grave, suck, f**k them all and [censored]” – I even don’t remember when else I was so angry like yesterday.

Thanks for your report Irina :)
Indeed what happened is terrible... I imagine I would have got mad too. These kind of people don't deserve to attend tennis matches. But anyway...
I hope you will enjoy the rest of the tournament... ;)

:fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: Thanks God i wasn't here i would have gone completely mad since even lesser incidents can make me become a fury often unluckily sometimes for the better. It would have been a certain scandal on my part. Damn those stupid ignorant loud and xenophobic betters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This has nothing to do with them being Russians Irina. This could have happened anyywhere in this fuc**** world, that's got all to do with them being those stupid ignorant loud and xenophobic betters that they are...
Good lesson. Keep the chin high. Next time he'll use the anger coming back from this to trash Vik so severly he'll be afraid to face him again even if the poor Vik din't have anything to do with this. But there's a win against him to take back...
Let's school your next opponent and use this feeling well.

Thank you for the report Irina. ;)

The photo was taken right after the end of his last match so sure he was very sad that moment.

But at least he's already had a good luck in Bercy gotten a WC and a qualifier for the first round. Allez Florent vas y defonce toi!

To Nathaliia. The photo of the coach: http://menstennisforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=68096 . Well, if your coach speaks Norwegian like the mother tongue (and Swedish is a very close to Norwegian language) then it could be him. Anyway he has worked with two Norwegian best players and has done it well, has been also very responsible. But I'm absolutely not sure if he is their coach yet. Because some my mates met these Norwegian players in a club and they told they were broken with their coach and he went back to Norway and they staied in Petersburg (this case was after both players lost their qualy matches). So don't not the end of the story...

No, it's not him, but big thanks for the pic and bothering :wavey:. It might mean he travels with one Swedish guy I'm expected to meet in Aachen, but looking at his 1st round opponent I highly doubt if he's gonna stay there until Thursday when I come heh ;).

And good luck to Flo in Paris :yeah:

Florent plays against Warwinka (Lucky Looser) today in the first round. Good Luck Flo. :worship:

At least this time there won't be the 2 annoying men in the crowd... :p

He lost 6-3 6-4
In the 1st set Warwinka played really good and broke him early in the set. In the 2nd Florent rised his level of game but at 4*-2 15-30 the empire didn't announce a ball who was clearly out from Warwinka  and then Flo couldn't save the 2 BP... That's sad that he didn't manage to keep focused cos he could have make it.
Congrats to Stan though. Well done.

From l'équipe:

Sorry, it's not the best translation ever  , but I did it quiclky ;)
"I was rather tense. And the fact that he played so well from the very beginning of the match, didn't help me to relax. In the second set, I felt I could do something when I managed to lead 4-1. I was imposing my game. But, at the end, I didn't dare to advance and I made some errors. I tensed, I moved back while I should have kept imposing my rythm. I have to be more active. I can do better, even if I am not as confident in indoors as on outside courts. Anyway, playing like this in front of the french crowd will remain a great memory. Obviously, I would have prefered not ending my season like this, but I am happy to have known the atmosphere of the central court. It's a beautiful experience. Ending with Bercy was not even in my mind at the beginning of the year. This season has been great. I have known everything, from small chellengers to Masters Series. Next year, I will enter the draw of the Australian Open as well as some clay tournaments in South America. That's great. I am confident, I am still young!"

I'm so glad Florent has such a positive attitude! He deserves the best! He has plenty of time to improve and maybe reach the top 50 or top 10! :) He will do even better next year now that he has the experience! I hope he comes to Houston for the U.S Men's Clay Court Championships so I can watch him!
