Re: What's up with Gasquet?

He played in the Scheveningen Challenger (Siemens Open) this week. He won two matches and lost to Calatrava yesterday. People on the yahoo gasquet list were saying that if he made the semis this week, than he'd be ranked high enough to be directly admitted in the US Open draw. So I don't know how that's going to work out now. Also, he and his coach split and his father is now coaching him for the remainder of the season.

**************************

Allez to the French gents and a big up to Tim! Further shouts out to Goran, Mr. Sampras and my two favourite former-players-turned-commentators: Johnny Mac and Boris!

Re: What's up with Gasquet?

He decided to skip the grasscourt season and just play clay court challengers. I don't know what he will be doing before US Open but I know he will be playing quallies because he won the juniors last year he automatically gets to quallify. To bad he lost - would have been nice and less stressful to see him automatically in the main draw.

GOOD LUCK

Fernando Verdasco | Paul-Henri Mathieu | Richard Gasquet

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga | Marat Safin | Juan Carlos Ferrero | Carlos Moya | David Nalbandian | Mathieu Montcourt | Nicolas Mahut

Do you know if this will help him get into the main draw of the US Open?

Re: What's up with Gasquet?

Perhaps if he wins them both there is a chance - Im really not to sure though. He's ranked #122 at the moment. So hopefully with strong showings at both he may have a chance

GOOD LUCK

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga | Marat Safin | Juan Carlos Ferrero | Carlos Moya | David Nalbandian | Mathieu Montcourt | Nicolas Mahut

Re: What's up with Gasquet?

Francis Gasquet (Richard's dad) doesn't want his son to play qualif for Us Open ...
So, Gasquet will play challengers on clay and he will work very hard, his father thinks he has to learn patience.

Then, Gasquet will play at international Serie LYON and the Masters of Paris Bercy to finish the year in the Top 100 !! It will be difficult, but it's possible !

Go Richard !

Mary will be back
