Re: Olivier Patience anyone?

Olivier lost 7-5 1-6 0-6 to Moya today unfortunately. After he was broken early in the third set he kinda gave up, it was really kinda disheartening. It's possible he could have injured something, because his attitude changed quickly and he played incredibly badly in the third set. It's a shame he lost, but it's nice he got his first ATP win of the year and played very well at times. And really though there's no shame in losing to Carlos Moya. His play in the first set today was very solid, and it seems to me he might be finally getting back into match shape.

Re: Olivier Patience anyone?

I had no livestream, so I didn't see it.
He was just coming back from injury, so let's hope it didn't pop up again

No, I didn't know about it.
Usually I always look for a stream, but with the time difference Brasil/Belgium, it's very difficult for me to watch unfortunately

Ahh, ok. And there was really nothing to suggest he's injured, other than going from playing well in the first set to losing the third set in like 10 minutes

Re: Olivier Patience anyone?

Some news about Olivier today in L'Equipe:
He's reassured about his game after a few weeks of doubt and he is most of all happy to have a coach again. He was working without a coach because Wino is now full-time coach of Jo. The FFT finally found a coach for Olivier: Saulnier who arrived on Sunday. Saulnier doesn't have coaching experience yet, but Olivier means he knows the circuit well and the first contact was good.

Re: Olivier Patience anyone?

That's nice to know, hopefully they work together well.

Unfortunately, Olivier has to qualify in Argentina this week. His draw looks pretty favorable though, and he'll play Argentinian WC Gustavo Marcaccio in the first round of qualies.

edit: Didn't know he would get on so quickly, Olivier won 62 63

Re: Olivier Patience anyone?

Good

Thanks for the news of the new trainer Fran! With Jo doing so well now, it's understandable that Wino concentrates on him, but I'm glad Olivier found someone too

Re: Olivier Patience anyone?

Olivier lost in the second round of qualies today to Daniel Gimeno-Traver 75 75. Not surprisingly it seemingly came down to who was playing the BPs better, and on this day unfortunately it was not Olivier. If I remember correctly Olivier doesn't have any points to defend for awhile, so let's hope he can play well in the next few weeks and move up in the rankings.

Re: Olivier Patience anyone?

Olivier lost 76 26 36 to Granollers-Pujol
Olivier overcame 2 set points to win the first set but apparently couldn't keep it up through the last 2 sets

Re: Olivier Patience anyone?

It's particularly a shame as Granollers-Pujol is playing wildcard Bruno Rodriguez, ranked 439 in the world
