Re: st petersburg

The biggest greetings from St.Petersburg!
Today I was on courts, especially at 15.00 on central court with french flag and hopes of Arnaud’s victory. But the result was 4:6 6:1 4:6.. In some aspects this match reminded me last year’s match between Sebastien and Alex Korretja. At second set Arnaud was a bit more concentrate and so won, other time of their play was stabile but Julian was better and lucky. After match he traditionally threw tennis balls for fans ... especially in area around my french flag but I at that moment thought only about to meet Arnaud and didn’t see these balls that almost hit me =)) Anyway Arnaud went away too fast from court and faster then from sportsmen’s zone... Poor guy! But I wish to meet him tomorrow when he’ll play in doubles with Llodra on second court (final match of day, it’ll start ~7.00 pm).
Allez Arnaud and Michael!!

Re: st petersburg

thanks for the report hangdog!!! i'm sorry to hear you had to brave those balls yet still not fast enough for arnaud (but knowing his speed.....) better luck on tuesday!!!!!

if arnaud keeps on losing first rounds, he may consider becoming a doubles specialist lol....

Sorry, can't be sad about that loss given my affinities toward Julien.

Re: st petersburg

I think Remi gets the boot at the end of 2004, whence Bruno will take over.

Maybe that will help, who knows.

Re: st petersburg

arnaud/llodra got through the first round.... llodra also through in the singles but paulo went out. at least arnaud has the doubles to make the russian trip worthwhile.

yes i think michelle is right about remi's tenure.... if i remember correctly what that article said... it goes to show what an amicable parting it is, with such a long notice

Yeahhhhhhhh!!!!! Oui!!!!
I was there yesterday. Firstly about Paulo (he and Micka played at the same time but I was on 2nd court with Paulo). Well, Korretja beats french again.. I'll never forget last year match between him and Grosjean!.. Hehe, so it would be nice to watch Alex in next round against Karlovic I saw Karlovic-Hrbaty and it seemed impossible for Dominic to beat Ivo whose serve is just killer. Thereto Alex had yesterday difficulty with Paulo's serve. And more: Paulo coughed during match and it seemed that he isn't in good health; one interesting moment: when the judge of tne match wasn't sure about Paulo's serve: court or out, he asked Alex about it and he answered that it was court.. Respect.

And now about Clement/Llodra in doubles. Yeah, it was absolutely perfect!!!! There were also 3 french people so guys had active support , played just fantastic and won!! So then I got their autographs (it was very nice when Arnaud moved some fans and went right to me to accurately signed on flag=). But then they went out, Micka arrived to athlets zone and Arnaud waited him between free and athlets zones talking to french woman. Lucky I had a good contact with guardman so then I went to this duo and got a picture with Arnaud.. poor guy was absolutely wet!.. Also I talked to them but don't remember what about... Shit, my awful French! Hope, next time I'll be more lucky in this aspect, and it would be better to speak English I think.

So everything was cool and so fantastic day I had only last year when I met Seb, but that story is more tragic because he lost that day.. Yesterday Clement/Llodra were winners so good luck, ALLEZ GUYS!!
P.S. French players are the best!

Re: st petersburg

Thank you hangdog for your comments and for supporting the frenchies !
Glad to see yoy had a nice day.
I'll hope it will be good for me too on next tuesday in Bercy (only problem, for the moment Arnaud has no wildcard ! )

A little pic of Julien Benneteau for someone who needs some "réconfort", she knows who is.

yup i know the embarrassment of trying to speak french to the frenchies... unless you think you're pretty good at french, better stick to english

Re: st petersburg

Heia!.. Salut & congratulations!!!! I just haven’t enough words, emotions only... Today it was ... I can’t describe it! I can’t believe.. if it really was or ?.. Oh, mein Gott! Well, try to keep calm.
So the story is next. I came this day 28.10 to SCC at 1pm (first matches began at 3pm). Firstly, I watched a part of match between Safin and Labadze and our heads of government. Then I went to 2nd court to watch if somebody trains there and... there were Arnaud, Micka, their coaches (what a nice guys!! I want the same cool coach!! Although my coach is also just “gold” and unique...) and 3 other athletes who had gone out soon. So for about 30 minutes I was there with french guys only! Once I helped them with balls =) And after this training I walked with Arnaud and talk to him... Via, thank you very much for you words about stick to English. At first, I didn’t receive it seriously because I know this fact “you think you're pretty good at french” and always practise it but I thought that in my case it’s impossible to be pretty good at French. And it’s really so. Situation is (or perhaps was?.. now I’m not sure=) next: French is my 4th foreign language after English, German and Norwegian, but I have never learnt it!!.. only have wanted. But when I was the summer traditionally in sport lager, between trainings there was nothing to do so I usually read books and when I had read all of them I read French students book... Only read but never learnt anything. So at Autumn I have nothing remembered. But followed by Via’s recommendation all words that I remembered in French variant I said in French, other in English.. And everything was fantastic! So I asked Arnaud about Sebastien. He said that he wasn’t sure if Seb really was going to play in Rotterdam and next year at all.... But also Arnaud said that Seb was really at home with his family and everything was good with him, he was ok. Arnaud told about Sebastien with a part of sorrow but not so sad and convinced me that Seb was happy and everything would be good. Also he said he was looking forward to wild card in Bercy. And he enjoys St. Petersburg and will come here next year if it’ll be possible. Well, then I watched nice match Karlovic – Korretja but before the beginning og 2nd set I went to support Micka in his match against Kohlman in singles. And there I met again Arnaud with his coach! So I joined to them and we supported Micka together. Then i talked some more to Arnaud (until he said “see you!”=) And he has really seen me again on his match in doubles when I joined to their coaches with my flag and had just fantastic time enjoiing their perfect playing manner. After match I has congratulated (in French yet!) all 4 frenches with victory =) Yeahhhh!!
Now Michael and Cyril in ¼ final, and Clement/Llodra in ½ final!!!!!!!!!!!
ALLLLLEEEEEEZ GARS!!!!!!

Why not? Saint-Petersburg is my favorite city and one of the most beautiful places in the world!!!! But really and fortunately (because of ecology and lots other aspects)I live in SPb's suburb in 20 km from the city (officially it's also a part of SPb).
