Hey Val did you read that people are allowed to assist to the training? clapping when they do well.
You were really unlucky that the training in Versailles was private.

Also, Arnaud is going to be the godfather of Tom, Seb's baby.
(just like Yannick Noah is the godfather of Mathieu, Guy's first son!)

french players practise with jerseys of national football team and they put on every jersey a funny name based on the movie "asterix and obelix" (an idiot movie, really!).
"Rusix" for Grosjean, "Rapidix" for Clément, "Surfix" for Escudé, "Magix" for Santoro, "Fourbix" for Mathieu et "Captainix" for Guy Forget.
LOL SO FUNNY!!

apparently the choice of second single player isnt only between Clement and Mathieu, but also Santoro has a chance to play in singles!!

"The question is which bet I want to make?", Guy Forget declared. "the bet of the audacity, ardour, with Paul-Henri Mathieu? The bet of the experience with Arnaud Clément, craftsman of all the victories? I know for example that it is necessary to go five times on Arnaud to beat it. Or then, I launch Fabrice Santoro for his strategic side, because I think that it can make unscrew in his head a guy like (Marat) Safin"
"I hear sometimes that Paul-Henri is three times stronger than Arnaud Clément, I do not agree. Potentially, ' Paulo' has a more significant margin. If it is in one ostentation day, it can put the bar higher, but I also know that Arnaud will not go down below a certain level play."

-please can u all tell ur opinion?who should play singles (apart from Seb) ?

Wink My pick

I'm new to this site pretty much. I came here thru Esther. Anyway, I was looking thru y'all's posts and pics, they are great! Where did you get the pics for the training and stuff? They all look adorable! There's just sth about men working out lol I guess!
BTW, how did you guyz know about Arnaud being Seb's baby's godfather? How old is Tom actually? Got any pics of Seb's family???
To answer your question, because Arnaud is one of my favourite players, I of course would love to see Arnaud picked as the singles player alongside Seb, esp cuz last yr he got "left out" fr the team, as grass is definitely not Arnaud's strong surface!
But of course, we'd have to consider who's really on form. The dangerous thing about picking Arnaud is that he can get a slow start to a match, a tendency he's done in five-set matches. Also, he's sorta injured, so of course there's the risk. But Arnaud is very quick and has a big fighting spirit when he's on it, so I truly that Arnaud can keep his head together and focus fr the beginning!
On the other hand, I dont' think Guy should choose Fabrice, cuz Fabrice is his main tour for doubles and if Fabrice play both singles and doubles it won't be too good, cuz he'd be tired. Of course, Fabrice might as well continue his winning streak against Safin, but Safin's attitude might be different in a DC match? I dunno, cuz I have never seen him play a DC match personally, but.... As for Mathieu, Guy's risking even more injury issue than Arnaud in my opinion, so.....! Basically, I saw stick to Arnaud! Esp cuz he did actually quite well in RG despite losing to Alex! But u know, Alex is an excellent claycourter and welll....gotta let that go.

Samantha

PS: BTW, was Arnaud being Seb's baby Tom's godfather an old news? If not, then this is the newest evident that Seb and Arnaud are still very good friends indeed and so u shouldn't worry!

Proud supporter for a comeback by PAT RAFTER, my favourite player of all time and a fan of all my other sweeties as well including, Magnus Norman, Jan-Michael Gambill, Marat Safin, Tommy Haas, Arnaud Clement, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Gustavo Kuerten, also loves Carlos Moya, Nicholas Lapentti, Thomas Enqvist, Mark Phillipoussis, Roger Federer, Sebastien Grosjean, etc! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lordsoftennis

hey hey patrftfanatic welcome! I'm Marilyn from Taiwan
As for my opinion for the DC singles, I think Guy should choose Arnaud Paulo can wait until next year and Fab would be too tired, like patrftfanatic said

french players didnt practise on wednesday, they had a day off!In the afternoon, Escudé and Clément left to play golf in company of the intendant Guillaume Raoux and of kiné Christophe Ceccaldi. The other members of the team of France intended to go to the cinema to see the last James Bond, "Die another day". "It appears that it is not very cerebral", Tulasne continued. At the end of the day, the players could slacken in the swimming pool with sea water of their hotel and profit then from care and massages before going to lie down, early, to be of attack Friday, departure of a new intensive phase. .The French players will start to dispute sets Friday and Saturday, but confrontations in four or five handles, in particular to determine the second man for the simple ones, will begin only Monday in Bercy. "Guy will then see the physical form of each one, the degree of confidence", added the trainer. "But attention, it is not inevitably that which will gain the matches Monday-Tuesday which will play finally."
