Thanks Fran

They didn't do this last year, right?

Re: Julien Benneteau

No, don't worry, I don't think you missed Paulo live on TV5 last year!

I realize now I hadn't posted here after having watched Julien's qualifying match against Pashanski in Hamburg, btw. Better late than never:
It was dramatic! It was my favourite match of the qualifying. A real battle, which means he cursed quite a lot. And Pashanski is pretty bad-tempered, so it was fun.
I was sitting next to Mika and he was really supporting Julien a lot (I had always wondered about that nickname "Bennet" they give him, btw, because "benêt" means idiot in French, but they pronounce it Bennett).
And the highlight was when he got injured on the last point before the MP. ^^ He needed a very long medical time-out, was limping, I really was wondering if he would be able to play that stupid last point after such a big fight - I was also wondering how Pashanski would act because it seemed so unlucky to get injured on MP...
But luckily, Julien finally managed to play S&V somehow and Pashanski played a poor return, so he could close it out by himself.

I hardly took pics, sorry:

He twisted his ankle at the very end of the match.

Re: Julien Benneteau

I saw the end of an interview this morning on TTC with Vince Spadea (who was surprisingly calm). He acknowledged he hasn't done so well at RG in the past and that Julien will be a tough match for him. He's hoping for a long match and that if it ended up being short, it would be a "gift" (to him from Julien).

Re: Julien Benneteau

Yea on the win vs Falla. Looks like Julien and Mahut have dropped out of doubles as Seb and Guga are now playing Mergea/Tecau.

Very amazing victory against Soderling today!

Soderling didn't exist in the two last set.

5 french guys on 1/8

Lucky ! Quelle ambiance de dingue !

Re: Julien Benneteau

He's been slumping big time lately, but says in L'Equipe today that he's been injured all the time since Wimbledon. He's been having some articular pain, hip, shoulder... He can't practice properly and pays for it in matches.
He won't play LA like he was supposed to and will go back to Paris to undergo medical exams.
