Interesting.

Although Simon's nerves are a lot better than Melzer's! And I think Simon would have been happy with the match-up as well?

It doesn't matter, as we should get that the match anyway (on Sunday). Better for France that it is at 2-1 or 1-2 than risk going 0-2 after Friday, I guess.

I don't think there was a risk for a Llodra's defeat against Melzer on first day.

But now there's a risk of that kind if he takes Llodra for a fifth rubber to replace Chardy against Fischer or Koubek.

If he had taken Llodra at first match he would have been number 1 of the team and then he couldn't have played the 5th rubber : this time Forget can still make that risky choice ... imagine if Chardy is awful first day and Benneteau not fully healthy ? back to Llodra for a 5th rubber

Re: Dc 2011

Jim is 2 sets up against Melzer. Jurgen doesn't look comfortable on the clay, Jim is playing really well apart from the odd wobbly moment. Great stuff!

Re: Dc 2011

Jérémy wins 75 64 75! what an upset! Melzer couldn't handle the pressure and was far from his level but congrats Jérémy. First DC match and it's a win.
It suddenly makes this tie easier for France.

Re: Dc 2011

Jérémy 45 winners 32 UE on clay, 63% first serves, 14 aces, I mean it was not Melzer's best but Chardy was great

one of these players who are not disturbed by Forget's playing style habits as it's better for him going inside the court with all of his will

Now Simon has less pressure

Re: Dc 2011

Bravo Jeremy ! And the situation looks a lot brighter for France. Only saw part of the first set but Jeremy looked good and Meltzer feeling the weight that is/was on his shoulders.

Re: Dc 2011

Great for Jeremy I don't see the match but i was expecting too much from Melzer apparently It's in those cases we see we have many great players in france even with the 3 withdrawal and the crisis we'll be able to win the tie 3-0 like last year

6-0 for Gilles it should be fast . Poor Koubek he should have stayed in his DC retirement
