Re: Davis Cup 2010: Vamos Franciaaaaaa...

I wonder what would be the surface of choice this time? Nalby and Kolya both thrive on fast hard courts.

The French team has been playing very well, but both Germany and Spain have badly underperformed with poor doubles and their number 1 collapsing, I hope the next tie will be a real fight.

thanks guys, I hope they don't play the semifinal in Paris, it's impossible to find reasonable rates until november. I hope everybody recovers from injuries till the tie.

Haha France team made my day. Happy to see French players are big fighters these days.

Nalbandian is so good in DC,doesn't matter what surface they will play,I think France have to win the doubles.

Re: Davis Cup 2010: Vamos Franciaaaaaa...

According to L'équipe, venue for the semis will be decided by the 21st. and Gachassin has mentioned (right verb?) Pau, Montpellier and Bercy. Is Bercy Paris?

Re: Davis Cup 2010: Vamos Franciaaaaaa...

Yes, he means the Bercy venue in Paris.
But Forget also talks about laying a hardcourt in Roland-Garros, so there's nothing sure yet.
Gilles says that indoors would be the best option again in his opinion, but I don't find it so obvious since it's not sure at all Jo will be back by then. Outdoor hard would be better against Nalby.

It would have to be a really really fast court then I think. Faster than this one.

Re: Davis Cup 2010: Vamos Franciaaaaaa...

Not easy to choose the ground this time imo. It depends who will be part of Argentinian team and in which form With Nalbandian i would say not indoor ground because he's really good when he's at his best but against the Monaco, Mayer, Schawk, Zeballos it would be OK. Apparently they go on the Indoor for the moment with Bercy, Pau or Montpellier.

Just a pity they can't play on grass in France (I know there is a court at british embassy, not sure it's enough lol)

well David isn't a slouch on grass either. If they had played Russia grass would have been a fab idea though.
