Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis

Here is a complete episode of the previous documentary series about french tennis players Dans l'intimité des Bleus (Sport+, 2007). This one is about Clément-Llodra, Grosjean and Santoro and is called Légendes d'automne. It's an .avi file lasting 53 minutes (I glued together the four bits on the link you gave me the other day, Françoise, even took off the advertising ). Highly recommended.

Another full episode of the same series. This one is called Retour sur terre and lasts about 26 minutes (Grosjean, Santoro and the Fed Cup team). Unfortunately it's in 3 pieces and in .flv format. If you have it in .avi, please post it here.

Finally, this is the final segment of yet another episode (don't know the title). It is about Gilles Simon's first title in Open 13 (Marseille, 2007).

Anymore info about this excellent series would be welcome.
Enjoy !

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis

Thanks Fran for this thread. I've just watched the video "interieur sport" about the mousquetaires. Do you know if they plan to make other episodes like this one for the future?

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis

Hi everyone,
Is the first episode of Les quatre mousquetaires available in good quality format (not .flv) ? Just checked eMule, it isn't there yet.
Also, I haven't seen the Intérieur Sport on Gaël. If it is megauploaded in avi I would love the link. Thx.

I only have the .flv file of the one about Gaël (April 2008, when he comes back from his injury break). For those who don't mind .flv files:

There are some extracts on Youtube too:

La Coupe Davis, une épopée, a clip from the FFT about the original musketeers and how they conquered the Davis Cup in the 1920's. Noah's testimony is touching.

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis

I didn't know they had won it 6 times in a row.

There was an "article" about "the ideal tennis player according to Forget" yesterday in Libé, my scanner isn't working, but there are a few bits on the website:

(Click the others on the right)

How would you say "gnaque" in English?

Edit: le voilà:

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis

i do not even think a word exists. I also discover how it is written in french.
"gnaque" could be define as having competition spirit, having desire to win, being a fighter (in a positive way).

I agree! We could translate it as a "strong will to fight in order to win"!

I think the expression "to have drive" is a translation of to have gnaque. But I have no idea if it is slang or not.

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis

A poll in the JDD about the favourite sportsmen/-women in France, Jo is top 10, no surprise.
The surprising thing for me was that Amélie is still ahead of him!
Richard is #14, Gilles #18.
But why didn't they include Gaël in the list? It says they gave a list of 20 sportsmen and asked 4 questions: "do you know him? do you like him? what do you think of his potential? do you want to know more about him outside of sports?"

Only 3 out of 4 people know Jo by name, I expected a higher score here, that one saves Amélie (95%). But he has great results for the other questions.

Thanks Fran. The poor score of football players is very surprising. And Richard is #14, not bad !
