It's a highlight of the season and clearly deserves a thread. :p

It starts in a few days, the teams are here:
http://www.fft.fr/premiere_division/2007/?id=3341
All the "stars" of the Paris-Jean Bouin are now playing for the Lagardère Paris Racing (except Gaël who probably won't be able to play anyway because of his injury).

Re: French Interclubs (10.11-01.12)

Mathieu Montcourt will start practicing again next week, so I don't know if he will be able to play for the Interclubs.
I have no idea for Julien and Nico, I actually expected them to play since they played quite a lot last year, even in the first rounds...
I thought they needed to play/show up at a couple of qualifying rounds to take part to the final, but on the FFT website, that rule seems to be only mentioned for the "barrages".

Only Gilles has played so far from the bigger names of the Lagardère Paris Racing.
They're playing with a handicap and give the other teams an early lead of 2-3 points, which is only fair.

Re: French Interclubs (10.11-01.12)

Is Lagardère now boycotting what used to be his favourite event, is it a new episode in the Lagardère-FFT story?
The only bigger name who's been playing for Lagardère Paris Racing so far is Gilles who has nothing to do with Lagardère and always used to play for the Racing as far as I know. Except Ascione, the team is the usual "Racing club" one with Simon, Carraz, Renavand, Lisnard, etc.

They lost again to the AS Patton Rennes which was playing with its A-team: Gicquel, Vliegen, Bolelli...
It looks very, very close for LPR to qualify now (there is only one more qualifying round on Saturday), but I don't understand how it works. The website only says Bondy and Rennes are almost qualified.

Flo lost in straight sets to Sluiter.
Jo played for TC Paris.

Re: French Interclubs (10.11-01.12)

Surprise surprise, Rennes totally tanked to have the TC Lille in the final.

The other teams qualified for the final are OK, Paris Jean-Bouin, AS Patton Rennes and AS Bondy. Not very exciting, but since I'll be in Paris anyway, I think I'll go, at least on Friday (and hope Petzsche plays for the AS Bondy...)
Is anybody else going?

Lagardère Paris Racing finally won, but they couldn't qualify anymore anyway, what a bunch of idiots, I don't buy they couldn't let Benneteau or another guy come for just one more match.

Re: French Interclubs (10.11-01.12)

I was there on Friday and Saturday, but I don't have much to tell here since I ended up following more the foreign players...
Plus my memory card was formatted by mistake today, the pics were crap anyway, but I had a couple of the Frenchies too and I just realized they were all deleted. :-\

Arnaud Lagardère was there on Friday (watching ERV who had to give up because of a pain in the foot). ^^
There were a bunch of kids looking disappointed because they wanted to see Gasquet & Co. instead of Anthony Dupuis (who played really well against Gicquel, but still...) I'm glad I'm a Petzschnertarde, otherwise I would have been pissed too, even though some matches were actually very fun. An average Racing team against Patton would have been nice, Bondy is a great team with great supporters, but many of the Patton players like Vliegen, Bolelli, etc. looked a bit bored TBH.

The mixed event was a good idea, a lot of people were following Cornette & Co. I had never seen her live before, she's really cute.

Re: French Interclubs (10.11-01.12)

No, sorry, the couple of pics I had of him warming up were on the SD-card which was deleted by mistake. (Mais elles étaient vraiment sans intérêt, je l'ai juste photographié quand il s'échauffait en courant autour du stade quand je suis arrivée.)
I didn't watch his match because I was sure he was going to win, I was watching another match at the same time, I thought they were going to win and I would have plenty of time to see him, I was not expecting that at all...

I just saw this on a blog, but you probably know it already:
Edouard Roger Vasselin (Jean Bouin) : “J’ai une douleur au-dessus du pied depuis un peu plus d’une semaine. Je n’étais pas sûr de jouer aujourd’hui mais j’ai pris le risque. Pendant environ set, la douleur était supportable mais par la suite je ne pouvais plus courir”.

I see everybody is posting results in the player threads, but where do you find them? On local websites? I can't find anything on the FFT website.
Impressive line ups for the first day already!

Forget it, I've found them, I had clicked on the wrong thing. ^^

Since the Clément fans seem to follow the TC Marignane very closely, are there any news about JR in the articles about the club? Is he still curing his meningitis?

And I'm completely lost on this website, I can't find anything: what are the teams which will play the "barrages" on 11.12? Is the TCBB one of them by any chance?

#64 ·
No news about JR just he has been replaced by lami but there is pics of JR on Marignane website. he was there for the first tie vs Primerose.

The barrages of the 12.12 are for the teams who will finish #5 or #6 in each group and it supposed to be played on the court of the #5. That's what i understand. In the Tennis Mag of the month everything is explained.

On the "Gestion Sportive" website there are listed the next "barrages": TCBB vs. Stade Toulousain and TC Blagnac vs. PJB. But I have no idea what it means, I also thought that it was working the way Soulage mentioned.

Haven't heard anything about JR (though I rather follow AS Patton), but there are some photos and details about the last match of Petzschner, don't know if you know this website: http://tcbressuire.over-blog.fr/article-match-des-numeros-1-lorenzi-vs-petzschner-39601233.html.

Oh merci, I hadn't seen it!
"Petzschner ne va pas se faire que des amis à Bressuire, il reprend le jeu sous la huée du public après une contestation de plus de 10 minutes"... :inlove: He was booed too when I saw him in Croissy two years ago, but the umpiring was so schoking.
It was a great strain on Gicquel's nerves too, unforgettable temper tantrum from him. :worship:

There's a guide of the Interclubs in the new Tennis Mag? I don't have it in the issue I bought online. :-/

I already posted this in the other thread, an article about the manager of the Stade Toulousain explaining before the start of the event that they would play without any foreign players (apart from Cerretani) this year and only with the youngsters of the club because they're sick there are more and more "mercenaries" in the French interclubs:
http://www.actutoulouse.fr/20091112...rt/sans-les-mercenaires-mais-avec-chardy.html
He seemed to expect Jim to play, though. Jim pretty clearly said after Bercy that he wouldn't, but maybe he will change his mind and help them to win at least a couple of matches.

Yes there is a big guide with presentation of all teams, the rules and many other things that i don't remember my one is at home. Something interesting is that this year for the final the four courts will have tv coverage not only two. The streaming will be available like last year if i don't do a mistake.

Toulouse will surely have to play the barrages and to play the barrages jeremy needs to play the two last matches of that RR.

Maybe they will have it online like last year. But it's a bit late now, I find it useful to follow the whole event.

I see only now that the guy of the FFT website had finally answered my question about the "barrages", but he doesn't say what teams will play either, so it isn't very helpful:
http://www.fft.fr/premiere_division/2009/default.asp?ID=5572
Toulouse, Blagnac, TCBB and PJB would make sense then.
But I still don't get it because the Metz newspaper says today that Metz isn't sure to stay in "Division 1". Blagnac (4 pts) can't catch them up with their 8 pts. Does it mean that the last 2 teams of each "poule" play the play-offs?
