Re: French Interclubs

Primrose won the interclubs 4-0 they didn't need to play doubles. Win was dedicated to M.Montcourt

I love Benoit "it's too much money for so few matches"

Re: French Interclubs

Center court and Court 1 were side by side, only separated by a few rows of benches, don't know how the players kept their concentration with the constant announcements from the other match. :/

Re: French Interclubs

Results day 2:

Villa Primrose def. ASPTT Metz : 5-1
Lagardère Paris Racing def. Grenoble Tennis : 6-0
AAS Sarcelles def. US Colomiers : 4-2

TC Lille Métropole def. AS Bondy : 4-2
TC Boulogne Billancourt vs TC Strasbourg : tied 3-3
TC Quimperlé vs TC Paris : tied 3-3

JWT was having an invitational exho not far from Quimperlé at the very same time, might explain the bizarre results there lol. Both Simon and Paire (TC Paris) lost their single match from one set up (Gilou was 5-1 up in the third set )

Even his opponent Grega Zemlja (ATP 54) looked a bit embarrassed. >_<

Re: French Interclubs

Gilles wasn't that useful to his club, they should be fine without him .

Did Paire change club, he wasn't with TC Paris last year.
So which club won at the end?
Thanks for the info btw.

Well, TC Paris is currently only 4th in their group (i.e not qualified), so they aren't really doing fine; without him onboard, the prospects will hardly look any brighter. Even if the results were not up to expectation, Gilles wasn't playing bad. Aside from his gigantic Novotna moment against Zemlja, he was playing surprisingly agressive and his form was going crescendo. He even won his double match in straights last Saturday. lol

Yep, Benoît was in the enemy's camp last year but he finally $$$aw the light.

Thanks both for the answers. So Benoit won the trophy last year and won the "prize" this year .

Re: French Interclubs

Day 5:

Group A

Villa Primrose def. Lagardère Paris Racing : 5-1
US Colomiers def. Grenoble Tennis : 6-0
ASPTT Metz def. AAS Sarcelles : 4-2

Group B

TC Quimperlé def. TC Strasbourg : 4-2
TC Boulogne-Billancourt def. AS Bondy 93 : 6-0
TC Paris def. TC Lille : 5-1

Florent Serra (Primrose) winning an Interclubs match was the highlight of the day! (7/6 4/6 7/6 over Nicolas Renavand *phew*). The teams that qualified for the semis are Primrose and Sarcelles in the Group A, Quimperlé and TC Paris in the Group B (TCP barely over Starsbourg on win/lost ratio).

Mathieu being absent from Strasbourg team last week-end was presented as the key of Quimperlé's qualification and Strasbourg's elimination.

useless old guy

Well, I wouldn't subcribe to that explanation. PHM signed for four matches so he was going to miss one tie no matter what; Quimperlé being the weakest team on paper prior to the start of the competition, it made sense to schedule Mathieu for the other ties. The key result for Quimperlé's qualification was IMO their tied score against TC Paris. Had Simon and Paire not blown up their respective very winnable match against Quimperlé, Strasbourg would have qualified even after losing to Quimperlé like they did.
