Re: Michael Russell

Good luck to Mike, but if he plays already on Monday he will have no time to practice and to get used to different time zone

Re: Michael Russell

He's not playing tomorrow, and during the Davis Cup coverage, they said he and Sweeting left yesterday (Saturday) to be able to get to Joplin, so I'd imagine he's there already so he should be ok

Cool, thanx for the info I was wondering why they didn't pick Russell or Sweeting for the last match when USA led 3-1 and Blake didn't want to play because the result already didn't matter.. now I get it

Actually PMac couldn't have picked Russell or Sweeting if he wanted to. You can only pick from the nominated 4 players and the other 2 were only there as hitting partners.

These challengers are good points accumulators, if he does well, but would like to see some good results on the main tour and no more injuries. As long as he gets in direct for RG, then that is the main goal.

Mike might get a WC to Indian Wells or Miami, then again he might not. It will be a mix of challengers and main draw events this year, but as long as he remains injury free, then he will able to get into summer MM events in the US.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Michael Russell

Russ sweeps past Kuznetsov 6-4 6-4, Jamie Baker awaits in the semis. Mike beat Jamie 6-1 6-4 in the final of Waikiloa, let's hope it's just as easy this time.

Re: Michael Russell

Good win for Mike to get past the ball basher Kuznetsov indoors and just hope he can continue on with this form. Now, it's all about consolidation.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Keep it up Mike.

Re: Michael Russell

And he's in finals now! He'll play Niemeyer or Ryderstedt tomorrow.

Edit: So there will be Russell vs. Niemeyer final
