Cindy, do you know why Travis has chosen to not play any singles?

I see. Well there are some here and there who are good enough but they choose to play doubles (Bryans come to mind, especially Bob, but I suppose they're in a unique position), so I just wasn't sure. Did he ever try? I just don't remember ever seeing him in any kind of singles draw in the past few years...

Re: Do you know Travis Parrott?!

Travis plays Singles qualies here and there. He came onto the tour as Jan-Mike's doubles partner and they won the first tournament they played together. Travis never really had a chance to work his Singles game through the circuit after college because he was already on the tour playing Doubles with Jan-Mike. He's such an aggressive, fearless doubles player it makes me curious what kind of singles player he would be, but he just never had the chance to develop I suppose.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

Well who knows if neither one of them has a regular Doubles partner maybe they could join up as a team And I think you are right Cindy that most Americans like to play Singles.

You're right, there are not many doubles specialists from America: the Bryans, Jim T, Travis, Graydon (not playing currently...), Tripp Phillips - and that's about it! Would be nice to see some more

Re: Do you know Travis Parrott?!

well I mean, how many younger doubles specialists are there from anywhere? Why play doubles if you have a shot at playing singles? The money, attention, all that is all much much better. So if any guy thinks he has a shot at playing singles and doing well, he's better off being an average singles player than a good doubles player for the most part - a guy like Bob Bryan who has what he has with Mike is different. Bob could probably be a top 50-100 singles player but he's a really famous doubles team and #1 in the world winning slams and tons of titles. Other than a situation like that, might as well at least try singles

Ok, I admit I don't know a huge number. You seem desperate to prove your point

Re: Do you know Travis Parrott?!

I saw Travis played Heineken's SQ in shanghai, and he lost the game, guess who beated him? Bjorn Phau! and after that he joined Tokyo's SQ and also lost in the first round, after that, he doesn't play singels.

thanks Fee, i checked atp ranking, they showed he was No.3 doubles player in USA, but i asked lots people who come from USA, did u know Travis? oh,..no who is this guy?

will he be here again? no, i don't think so. if tmc is still here...

Re: Do you know Travis Parrott?!

True, Paul is just under two years older than Steven.

Travis is not the #3 US Doubles player though, and hasn't been for some time.
