Re: The Robert Kendrick Thread

That's a great interview. It's a pity that he couldn't close it out. He played so well out there and would have deserved to win this one. I hope the US Open comitee decides to give him a Wildcard for this year's tournament. He already proved that he isn't washed up (he won the Forrest Hills Challenger a few weeks ago) and he deserves another chance in a big tourney.

Rob pulled out of a Challenger (Winnetka, Illinois, USA) so I don't know if and where he's gonna play before the USO^^

Re: The Robert Kendrick Thread

Probably Newport Beach qualies, probably LA qualies, possibly the Aptos Challenger, Indy qualies, Washington qualies. I think he'll decide to take his chances on the ATP events instead of going for the sure points at Challengers.

Keep an eye on the entry lists in the Challenger forum, if he doesn't show up on any of the ones in the US it means he's planning to stick with the ATP events. You could always check his official website. Oh wait...

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

Robert is on the Entry List for the Aptos Challenger and he has applied for a Wild Card into the Newport tournament next week.

Re: The Robert Kendrick Thread

I first took notice of Robert when he qualified at Cincy 2003 and lost 1st round to Gaudio like 4-6, 4-6 I think. He also did well in San Jose last year (or was it 2004 )

I'm going to the first day of qualies at Indy and the SFs of Lexington (challenger) as well as every day of Cincy so hopefully I'll get to see him in action this summer.

Rob is in the qualies at the Hall of Fame tournament in Newport. The draw is in the tournament thread.

Re: The Robert Kendrick Thread

He got a WC. Plays Spadea in the first round so not too bad of a draw. Baghdatis must have withdrawn because I don't see his name there so that turned out to be a good thing for Robert.

I'm one person that was so happy to see him back and playing well. And not to lose his temper for 5 sets . I thought that was a shocker. Maybe all that time out because of his wrist mellowed him out . He was doing so well before the wrist issues so I hope the injuries are over and he can start that long climb back again.

PAW 2013:
Munich - 2nd place
Halle - 4th place
's-Hertogenbosch - 4th place
GSTAAD - WINNER

Marcos never officially entered, so they just reallocated his WC at the last minute, good that they honored Robert's request

I know that. Apologies for choosing the word "withdraw" instead of being long-winded and saying that Marcos chose not to take the WC that was offered .

Either way it's a good thing for Robert and that was the point.

Re: The Robert Kendrick Thread

Yes, it's great that he got the Wildcard. I think Robert already played against Vince this year and lost badly. But that was at the beginning of the season and Robert has really stepped it up in the last few weeks. I think he has a chance in this one. Good luck Robert!
