Francis . If he keeps this up, he will lose the No.1 Singles spot.

Quote:
After yesterday’s defeat to Chinese Taipei the eighth seeds Great Britain were looking to cause an upset on Centre Court to keep their title hopes alive. The first rubber was a one-sided affair as Michael Mmoh (USA) defeated Daniel Bennett for the loss of just two games. Jay Clarke then stepped up for Team GB to defeat the USA’s Francis Tiafoe in an impressive display, fighting back from a set down and saving a match point to post a 36 64 10-8 victory and force the deciding doubles. The deciding doubles went the way of the top seeds as Mmoh teamed up with William Blumberg for a straight sets win over Clarke and Samuel Ferguson to keep USA’s hopes of the World Junior Title alive.

Wasn't there a live streaming last year? I can't find it anywhere right now.

Today's matches (USA vs GBR) are in the video library archive (Tuesday 8-14-2012, same webpage ^). Was skimming through the video and didn't recognize it at first until I saw Tiafoe's forehand form .

Honestly I think he needs someone to go hard on him. He's very talented, probably the most talented of the bunch, but also seems to be mentally fragile.

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

We made it out of round robin but this is where it gets tough. Orlando Luz is one of the very best 14u clay courters in the world. I think we should keep the Mmoh, Blumberg lineup against Brazil. In my opinion, the two of them have a much better chance of playing to their potential in a match like this.
And then, assuming we beat Brazil and Korea beats Japan, I think we'll have to fight talent with talent in the championship. If Blumberg plays 2 and Mmoh plays 1 against Korea, there's a decent chance they both may lose. I feel the probability of losing both singles matches greatly diminishes with Mmoh at 2. And that would hopefully give Tiafoe room to play much more loosely at singles 1, against easily one of the top 3 players at this competition. Tiafoe seems to do better when his opponents are stronger anyway. And this saves a fresh Blumberg for doubles if necessary...and my guess is doubles WILL be necessary. (All hypothetical, of course)

Why are they playing STBs instead of a third set in singles? Awful and it only cheats the players.

I don't think they are playing STBs; there is no tiebreak in the 3rd set.

Oh Well forget I said anything, I just looked at the 10-8 score and assumed... That is great then.

Day 3 - Final day of round robin

USA [1] 3 - 0 CHINESE TAIPEI

MS2 William BLUMBERG (USA) def. Cing-Yang MENG (TPE) 6-1 6-0
MS1 Michael MMOH (USA) def. Tung-Lin WU (TPE) 7-6(2) 6-4
MD William BLUMBERG/Francis TIAFOE (USA) def. Chung-Han TSAI/Tung-Lin WU (TPE) 6-7(5) 6-3 7-5

Looking at the results, I prefer Michael to play both singles and doubles. I agree with PTWahoo14, put Michael and Will at singles tomorrow. If they beat Brazil, then put Michael and Francis at singles with Michael at No.2 (giving him rest time before doubles).
