Re: Daniel Kosakowski

It looks like DK will try to qualify at the Sarasota and Savannah challengers next, instead of playing the OKC and Little Rock futures. After that there are no US challengers in May/June, so perhaps he'll play the FL and CA future events. Good luck, DK.

Daniel is in the qualifying draw for ATP Houston, will play Mischa Zverev in the 1st round. Good luck.

Re: Daniel Kosakowski

He won 36 64 30 Ret'd, plays Sugita next.

To be honest, I don't expect him to qualify (his results on clay are atrocious, he lost to a junior not too long ago in a future event).

I agree. His results and inexperience on clay, plus having to beat three opponents that way outranked him, make qualifying a long-shot. At least, now it's one match down and two to go.

Advance to the final qualifying round with a 76(4) 64 win. Up next is Russell.

Re: Daniel Kosakowski

Lost 64 61. From the little of what I saw in the 2nd set, he made too many unforced errors especially off his backhand side.

Re: Daniel Kosakowski

Well, DK did a lot better than anyone had a right to expect.

My question: The qualifying drawsheet for this tournament says a qualifying finalist get zero ATP points. Is this correct? Doesn't a qualifying finalist in an ATP 250 get 6 points?

Re: Daniel Kosakowski

I always thought he made a mistake going pro after last season. But hopefully he can turn things around soon.

Re: Daniel Kosakowski

Daniel will play Jordan Cox in the 1st round of Sarasota challenger qualifying

Should be no problem since Jordan is in a worse slump than him

Re: Daniel Kosakowski

Won 64 64, had a really hard time serving out the match but got it done. Will play the winner of Delic and Fratangelo next.

Re: Daniel Kosakowski

Lost to Delic in 16 75(5) 46, but fought hard til the end. He broke back when Delic was serving for the match in the 2nd set at 54 and saved so many break points in the 3rd. Despite the loss, glad to see him keep fighting for 2 1/2 hours on his worst surface.

Re: Daniel Kosakowski

Yes, it's good that DK is fighting hard and has some recent wins. Good luck in the Savannah Challenger Qualies.

BTW, he did get 6 points for being a qualifying finalist in Houston. He is at a career high of #315 now. He does have a lot of points to defend in June and July, however.
