Re: Denis Kudla

Maybe there will be some drama like in their last meeting, which is normal for a Williams match. Or maybe there will be a letdown, which is also normal for a Williams match. Hopefully, there will be a stream.

It would be a good revenge and he has a titlist points to defend in Lexington. Denis should have the edge since it is outdoors in extreme conditions (Rhyne tends to quit when up against the odds). When a guy who lacks motivation and views tennis as a part time job is the 3rd American in the race Come on Denis!

And since they are both mental midgets, this is actually a good draw for them

Re: Denis Kudla

Let's go Denis Sorry Rhyno

Quote:
(WC) Denis Kudla vs. (WC) Rhyne Williams

The pair of American wild cards will be featured during night-session action on Monday. They faced each other five years ago at the Futures level when both players were not even close to reaching their 20s, with Kudla cruising through a clay-court encounter 6-3, 6-3. Their most recent meeting came last December–also in Atlanta–on an indoor hard court at the USTA Australian Open Wild Card Playoffs. Kudla served for the match in the second set but Williams stormed back to prevail 5-7, 7-6(4), 6-1.

Kudla is up to No. 92 in the world (as of Sunday), two spots off his career-high ranking and good enough for direct entry into the U.S. Open. The 20-year-old qualified at Wimbledon and advanced one round before losing a tough first-rounder on the grass courts of Newport to Vasek Pospisil in three sets. Williams got off to hot start in 2013, winning a wild card into the Aussie Open (lost to Florian Mayer in five sets) and capturing a Challenger title in Dallas. The 22-year-old, ranked 127th, struggled on grass but had to play Nicolas Mahut in the first round of each of the two events that Mahut eventually won. This battle of Williams’ forehand vs. Kudla’s backhand will come down to which man can better dictate play and utilize his favorite shot.

Pick: Kudla in 3

If he can't even handle the pace of Williams then he's gonna seriously struggle in the ATP circuit.

Re: Denis Kudla

i like the way he plays technically, but he has some serious maturing to do mentally during matches. He just gifted it to Rhyne tonight.

What is it with the Americans, that none of them can play more than 2 consecutive weeks of good tennis, I am sick, and tired, and twisted of that.

Re: Denis Kudla

I am very disappointed with Denis, he is better than this. Actually, I'm disappointed in both of them. The sad part is Williams didn't even play his best tennis; didn't even bother constructing any real point. And the worst part, Rhyne was goofing around experimenting with the dropshots . So so disappointed with this match.
