the voting options for direct finals
(i know that noone thought about it during the Exhos, but...)
the points gap between 3rd and 4th that was applied in the Exhos and BSG#40 puts increased emphasis on the top3.
for 12 voting options the distribution 14-12-10-987654321 would have been better, i'd say.
but i (and MWW agreed) think that it's not even useful to add more big-pointers and to make the gap between first and last even bigger (than 12)
(as the low points would become worth even less than in our standard/Eurovision system).
so if we want to vote for more songs (than 10), i would suggest to simply add more 1-pointers (as odd as it seems).
it's not important for anyone to make separations between their bottom choices (10th,11th,12th,13th).
for reference here the first part of the discussion
and there an example with The Dodger himself:

if we (adjust that exagg. 25 to 24 and) divide that Formula1 system by 2 we get:
instead of our standard separation between 2nd and 3rd it adds one big-pointer,
but it also adds one very small "fry".
while all this looks better than Exho/BSG#40 (at least theoretically),
the difference to what i suggest (12-10-87654321-11111
) is pretty small.
your entire top10 would be in order of preference with either distribution, Dodgy.
and from there^ to my alternative idea is only a relatively short distance, that we'll now jointly cover.
(regular voting systems have to rely on penalties and extra rules, which can cause trouble with casual BSG players and extra work for the managers.)
making the extra spots (1-pointers) optional altogether (one could even simply allow an indefinite number of these 1-pointers then)
would lead to a completely uncomplicated extra rule/option.
well, such extra 1-pointers (should you choose to award them) would marginally hurt the (statistical) chances of your own submission,
but i doubt that would bother us in practice (->see spoiler).
and it could easily be tested. (if someone doesn't read the OP/rules, no problem, they don't need to.)
