Wimbledon Ground Passes - Help Needed

Hi all,

I've only ever been to Wimbledon with show court tickets and so I'm a little unsure of ground pass procedures...

I know that people camp out overnight to try to get hold of the few remaining show court tickets, but if you only want a ground pass do you get in the same que that morning?

If this is the case, what would be the best time to arrive? I'm guessing early is unecessary if I don't want a show ticket and want to avoid the ques, but obviously I want to be there as soon as possible so as not to miss any action... Does anyone have any idea what time the ques die down a little? Or if there's anywhere else just to get ground passes?

Any info from people that have done this before would be very much appreciated

Thanks a lot

I'm going tomorrow and getting a ground pass. I'm gonna get there for about 7am, you can probably get away with going later but I'm not gonna take any chances.

So you just join the end of the que? How long would you expect to wait for, any idea?

Is it not worth waiting until nearer midday, woudln't the ques be less by then?

Yeah, the queue starts moving around 9am or so if I remember correctly. You just join the back of it.

I don't think there will be any left by midday, there's only about 6,000 available I think.

What day are you thinking of going? I can let you know tomorrow night based on my experiences.

I'm going Saturday so I'd be grateful if you could let me know how you get on!

Re: Wimbledon Ground Passes - Help Needed

I queued yesterday morning for a ground pass and got to the queue at 8am, maybe like 5 to 8 and was in by 10.45. I was number 2000 and something in the queue.

Hope that helps a little, though the queue is probably going to be bigger on a Saturday.

Q. You must have so many different emotions going through your head. Was it like a rollercoaster for you?
STANISLAS WAWRINKA: Yeah, yeah, it's quite crazy..I never expect to win a Grand Slam.
I never dream about that because for me, I was not good enough to beat those guy.

Maybe the sky will fall?
