I was surprised too see Jarkko screaming like that when he made his first break. The commentator compared him with Lordi.

Re: ~Jarkko in Wimbledon~

Way to go Jarkko, what an important win for you!! This is so great, Jarkko will play for a place in Wimbledon QF!!

Too bad I didn't see any of the action Could someone post a little description of what happened? Was Jarkko playing aggressively after he lost the 1st set, or did Philipp start to make easy mistakes? How was the tempo of the match, did Nieminen or Kohlscheiber come to the net often or stay at the baseline...?

Maybe Jarkko was pretty tense in the beginning because I bet he really wanted badly to win this one. He must have also felt quite a lot of pressure of being the favorite. It's so tough to face a guy you've beaten three times in a short time, because you know the other guy has nothing to lose.

It's great to see Jarkko gets his head together nowadays after bad starts and all!

Yup, but still I'm pretty sure he's gonna loose against Dima :/ I'd be reeeeally surprised if he can manage to beat him. I mean, Jarkko's been playing well here but his opponents haven't been that good. And usually when he faces a tougher opponent, he looses. But of course Dima shouldn't be impossible to win, after all he leads 1-0 against him (even though that match wasn't played on grass).

It's true that Tursunov may be at least beforehand a bit closer than Jarkko to win this one. This situation (opponents haven't been too good and then a better player) has caused a lot of problems to Jarkko before. We'll see...Tursunov has quite a good serve but as Jarkko said, he thinks he's mentally stronger than Dimitry, and I would agree that.

Let's hope the best of luck to Jarkko!

Well, Mitja was mentally pretty tough coming from 2 sets down against Ljubicic. Of course, the match was totally different from what it's going to be against Jarkko, and Tursunov will need to be a lot more patient in the rallies. Still, the game style and the surface both favor Tursunov against Nieminen.

I just hope Jarkko is really sharp from the start and somehow takes the 1st set. Then in the 2nd and 3rd, Tursunov will get into the groove and probably play his best tennis. When he does that, there's not much Jarkko can do, except hang on in there. Hopefully though, Jarkko keeps patient and waits for Dmitry to fade, after that Nieminen may be able to start dominating with his slower rhythm and changes of pace.
