I was just wondering who else out there is a mad Jarkko fan? I only took notice of him in January 2003 when he trained with Enqvist. Jarkko has the most wonderful game, I saw him beat Kafelnikov in Melbourne and I was blown away! Anyone that's a fan, feel free to contact me :D

I *think* I just uploaded a photo of Jarkko. lol! Bye for now,

Kristen.

He will have to rest about 2-3 weeks. So Jarkko can't participate in Delray Beach-tournament, which begins on 31. January. But let's hope the best, that Jarkko is gonna get well soon.

By the way, he was supposed to be the 7th seed at Delray Beach, pity...There would have been a good chance to get a lot of ATP-points and get the ranking even more better. But I'm very impressed, how much Jarkko's playing has got better! :) If he played like this on hard, it's nice to wait for the claycourt-season... ;)
yeah, really bad news. I didn't expect such a long rest for him. AND Delray Beach has an easier entry list than Scottsdale and Memphis  .

But I hope he will be at least in a good shape for Scottsdale, Memphis and GHANA!!!

Really late reply,,, but kat is right. I was watching Jurgen, because I had already made up my mind about the outcome of Jarkko vs Paradorn! LOL Im glad I was wrong.
Have you guys seen the pictures of Jarkko during the Roger match on getty? god, I can hardly look at them. To see a grown man in that much agony, is . On the other hand, if you can stick it out until page 2 loads, there are some awesome shots :)

I'm finding it rather ironic, that Jarkko gets through two rounds of qualifying in Sydney, with two withdrawals from injury, and the next week it happens to him

I think that hat hair works for Jarkko... seriously. I'm sure kat will understand! :p

 ohhh I actually haven't checked them yet..... the poor thing. As for page 2, I don't know >> any Jarkko pics in that yellow top is going to make me think ---> dag! :p

I'm beginning to think his hair is getting too long for that spikey look though! maybe he needs to start queuing for a haircut!

He's got some time to kill now... I wonder if the Garnier salon will be popping up anywhere else sometime soon

According to finnish TV-station YLE, his next tournament will be Dubai. I think he has to qualify there. One word has to be said: DAMN! :(
Much nicer than the four-letter word I was thinking of

Hopefully the Jarkko from 2003 / snd set against Mutis in Sydney, will make an appearance in Dubai :)

Jarkko is no.11 on the alternate list there so he has to qualify for sure:(

And he'll probably be out of the top100 after it.

For me, even more important than a good result in Dubai is that he'll be ok for the Ghana tie. I'm getting afraid of a loss when I see Paukku's results this year. So be in a good shape Jarkko and Ketola!!!

That's fucking bad thing that he's gonna be out of the top 100...Why his stomach muscle had to injure WHY? It would have been good chance to get a lot of points from the US tournaments.

According to the finnish media, Jarkko is in a good shape and he can't wait to play a match again. On Sunday, he and his mates will arrive in Accra for acclimatization.
So Finland will have there best team. :yeah: I just hope they won't get ill there. Especially, Kiiski and Lenho, from -15°C to 30°C+.

Great to hear he's motivated!
Come on Jarkko... play like there's no tomorrow!
2003 Jarkko... come back !

Who is that?
Timo...Ketola...and? :wavey:

You passed the test. Timo, L.Ketola and the other is...I don't know. The pic is from the Smash-Tennis-Club-site. Maybe it's a coach from this club. At least it looks like he's explaining something.
btw Timo is still alive, I've found a score of a match he has won for Smash-Tennis last week.
I hope this pic will be part of that PGT-game here in the forum so that I've a chance to win.

LOL Yeah I'm crossing my fingers that Martijn will include B-grade Swedish guys!

Is Jarkko not playing at Indian Wells?

Maybe Jarkko just wants to relax after the Ghana-tie, and then hopefully be in good shape at Sunrise, where he has to get a lot of points...

After Friday:
Ghana - Finland 0-2 \o/

Jarkko won 6-1 6-2 6-1 and Tuomas won 7-6 5-7 6-1 4-0 ret. I'm not sure did all the sets go right...but who cares, now the situation is just what it HAS to be... :)
