Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

either one (wawrinka/nalby) would be a tough one for jarkko... i'm watching their match right now and wawrinka's playing so well, and jarkko hasn't really been tested so far in the draw. but best of luck to him

Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

Jarkko can choose the tactics to whoever, I like it in his game the most

I remember seeing his two matches in USO in the row - against Verdasco and Hewitt. it was impressive game switch from one to antoher.

also in Sopot it was cool to see him playing first Puerta, then Almagro with a change.

(unfortunately he didn't guess the way Mayer would have played in the QF.... but these things are far behind us let's concentrate on the future!)

Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

Well I don't think Jarkko can upset David with his tactics, they've played each other so many times already. It's going to be a tough battle over control as Jarkko can't afford to let Nalbandian dominate from the baseline. Hopefully it's will be a good fight -- it could turn out to be one of the best matches of the tournament, as both guys have been full of confidence lately!

Good luck Jarkko!

Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

Hiiiii I can't believe there are many Jarkko fans here.I started noticing him in Wimbledon 2005.He played very good even though he lost to Tim in the first round. And then I became his fan in US OPEN last year.
Well,I think he will become a big player as time goes by.He just needs more experience.
I'm very excitied that he will play against David, but a bit sad at the same time coz they meet too early.I like both players.(I'm a big fan of David actually.)
Anyway, just hope both of them will try their best and play a good match!!!

Jarkko Nieminen

David Nalbandian

Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

I think against Nalbandian we will see an aggressive Jarkko, he can't wait for ue's against him. I would be very disappointed if he lost. He has the good chance to make his best success ever tomorrow!

Nieminen/Lindstedt d. Cibulec/Pala 6-1 4-6 6-1

Jarkko got the 3rd match on VODAFONE tomorrow. Too bad they didn't get the night match on center court - Robredo/Blake is no way better.

Unhappy Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

When he missed the bp of Nalby serve at *2-3 in 4th set, I have a bad feeling he would lose soon. He should take that pt on the net.

That point was very crucial. Who knows, if Jarkko would have taken the match to the fifth set after leading *4-2. Also when Jarkko was serving at
5-5 *30-15, he netted after a very good serve and approach to the net. Jarkko had a lot of opportunities in the fourth set, sad he couldn't take them.

Still, good fight again Jarkko!

Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

I think he looked disappointed and he should be with the result. But at least he got the two must-wins. I hope he still works hard on his game and will reach 4th rounds regularly in the future. Next time he should be top24 seeded and get a better chance.
