Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

Great pics JMG!
Nice win for Stakhovsky (but how dare he! And how can Jarkko be so :retard: It's a mystery! -i wish!-)

I had an embarrassing moment with Mr Stakhovsky at the Aus Open last year. I thought he was Philipp Kohlschrieber.... after I thought he was Florian Mayer (I didn't know what Florian looked like! LOOOL!!!) So I'm keeping my eye on him, hoping he develops, without defeating my other guys

Kick ass next time Jarkko!

Hey guys! There was probably a mistake. The website now shows a different result, which is: Nieminen d. Stakhovsky 7-5 4-6 6-2. Hope it's right....

If you`re not gonna shoot, you`ll always miss.

Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

THE LIST is out for Finland F1 (6th-12th June).

Juho Paukku, Timo Nieminen, Lauri Kiiski, Janne Ojala and Lassi Ketola are already on the main draw list + 4 wildcards + maybe 3 finnish qualifiers = ~12 finnish players in the first round.

Thanks for the hint! Looks like Jarkko has won. Even the finnish media thought he has lost.

So... did he get married yet!? lol seems like they've been engaged for a long time
I think there were no news for a long time now about Jarkko/marriage.

In his match against Agassi they showed a women twice (in a players box), who looked similar to Anu Weckström.

On last Thursday, Jarkko got some time in the French Open highlights of the day on Eurosport. He said, that the win against Agassi was his biggest in his career although Agassi was injured, because he was an idol in his childhood.
They also showed some Jarkko fans in the crowd - a few old women, (probably over 60), with little finnish flags in their hands. Most of them had grey hair.

Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

I'm not sure, but one grey-haired guy there could have been Frederik, who's an old-time pop"star" in Finland, a favourite of people born little after World War II...

Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

Finally the score changed again to 7-5 1-6 6-2 for Jarkko.

Next opponent is difficult to beat, Florent Serra, who won easily against Beck in the 1st round and against Pavel in RG.

J.Nieminen d. F.Serra 4-6 6-2 6-2

QF is a must-win against Dell'acqua, who lost to Ketola earlier this year.

Big Jarkko def. Peter Luczak 6-4 6-4

If he wins this shit, 140 points will be added to his current ranking points.

Re: Jarkko Nieminen and other Finnish players

Finnish newspaper or tabloid Iltasanomat (may be both) reports that Nieminen and his fiancee Anu Weckström are getting married end of the week.

Congrats to Jarkko and Anu. And lets hope his victory in czech and marriage boosts his game in future tournaments
