Re: Tearin' up the hardcourts!

OMG Mike gave most of the acceptance speech, then Bob just thanked everyone. The commentators response "we know who wears the skirt"

Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by another human being.
Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light

The great thing about democracy is that it gives every voter a chance to do something stupid.

I missed the last few games of the match along with the speeches etc. If anyone has the clips they could upload I would greatly appreciate it.

Bryan Brothers Win Third US Open Series Title In Toronto

Top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan picked up their third US Open Series title and first ATP Masters Series shield by defeating third seeds Paul Hanley and Kevin Ullyett 6-3, 7-5 in the final of the Rogers Masters in Toronto.

The Bryans pick up their fourth consecutive title and are riding an 18-match win streak, which dates back to their Wimbledon victory. The Bryans have advanced to the final in each of their US Open Series events (Los Angeles, Washington, Toronto) capturing the crown at each event.

The Bryans were facing Hanley and Ullyett for the title for the second consecutive week after squaring off in the Washington final last week. The Bryans have faced Hanley and Ullyett four times this season and have a 3-1 record. Hanley and Ullyett were the last team to defeat the Bryans, defeating them in the semifinals at Queens in June.

Hanley and Ullyett have a 40-12 season record and were looking for their second AMS shield this season after winning in Hamburg in May. The pair has captured two hard court titles this season in Rotterdam and Dubai.

Ullyett picked up the 2005 AMS Canada title last year (w/ Black) and was looking for his second consecutive Rogers Masters title.

What The Players Said:

Bob Bryan: "You've got to play really solid and tight against a team like that. Right now they're the second hottest team. They could be the first hottest team if we don't win the 3-all point today. The breaks are going our way. We're actually playing really clutch on the big ones right now. That has to do with our confidence."

Mike Bryan: This is the best streak of our career. It all started at Wimbledon. Down two sets to one and a break, toughed that one out. Went on an amazing run to win our first Wimbledon title and complete the career Slam. Feels like all the pressure has been lifted off of us. We're just having fun playing tennis now. We don't have that burning desire to win that last Grand Slam title. We got them all. Now we're just trying to pile them on top."

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."
