They both won :D

I hope to see some rapidly rising singles rankings to go along with a couple doubles titles within the next few weeks :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Hey Hurley! Great to see you in here! :D

Yes they did! Way to go Mike and Bob! :bounce::bounce:

Mike is up against Nicolas Massu next and Bob will take on Andy Roddick! Yikes! Wonder what sparks that might bring.....

The bros play doubles today: Bryan/Bryan vs Roddick/Vahaly. Will this be a little preview of tomorrow? ;) This is what Bob said about it:
"I'm going to go out there and have fun. He's favored and I don't have high expectations for me. He's going to be favored in singles but we'll be favored in doubles."

GO MIKE AND BOB! :bounce::bounce:

#154 ·
Wow, singles wins for both! That's pretty awesome, especially for Mike who just had his injury and hadn't played a singles match in...? Bob's got it rough in the next round, though. :( But as long as he gives it his best, as he always does, we'll be proud. :D

Good Luck to both twins in DC! :bounce:

Btw Tinne, I would love to join your "parties" for the Bryan Bros. but I don't have msn. :(

#156 ·
Hey! I never liked the Bryan Twins, but I got a picture with one of them yesterday... I don't know who it was still because I never cared for them. Haha. Anyway, I think it was Bob, and he was really nice to me.

I also got to see them play doubles today against Andy/Vahaly. I actually wasn't rooting for the latter :)

Hey Ms Guga!

Okay, I could start a very interesting rant here about why to like the twins, but I won't 'cause time is not on my side right now. I might do that later then... ;) But, besides being fabulous players, they both are really really sweet guys, that is for sure!

Great you got to see the match! Sorry the boys lost though... They weren't supposed to do that....
If you want to tell them apart: Bob usually wears a beaded necklace and he's the lefty.

Oh and if you care to share that pic, let me know! :D

Mrs. Guga

Hiya Mrs. Guga!

Well, as Tinne said, we could go on for hours about why you should love the twins, but I don't have time either. lol But we're glad you've stopped by and we'd love to hear about their match and see the pic. I'm just dying to know if they played awful or if Andy and Brian were just playing terrific.

Perhaps you'll change your mind about the twins in time...

As for their singles matches...GO MIKE!! GO BOB!! I'm really hoping you're right Tinne. He should be ready to take Andy out today after losing to him yesterday. lol There should be no winning twice for Andy! :)

I'd love to see both of them advance in this tournament. It would be all the better for Davis Cup. They are supposed to announce the team after the US Open. Please, please, please pick them Pat Mac!

Yes Amber! As 2 days ago with the guys singles first round: I have the confidence! And that brought good luck! So tonight: :notworthy to the confidence!

I hope, pray, that Pat Mac will finally get Mike and Bob on the DC team! I mean, he has what he wanted now: the guys won a slam, they are number one in the doubles race and Bob won Joplin and got to the semies at Newport! Pat Mac would be a complete idiot if he didn't pick them now! As it stands now: Andy, Mardy, Mike and Bob are the ones I'd pick!

GO MIKE!! GO BOB!! tonight! :bounce::bounce:

Awwww, too bad the Bryans lost in dubs. But, as you said Tinne, Bob will have to beat Andy to get revenge. I saw that Mike was able to pull out a thriller of a match against Okun. Congrats to him, and I hope he can keep advancing with his brother in the singles draw. :)

Tinne, I might decide to join msn one day but I'm too busy right now. :(

Bob still to play tonight… Good Luck! :bounce:

#164 ·
Andy beat Bob 7-6, 6-4. :( Oh well, at least he put up a good fight/challenge.

Re: Mrs. Guga

Amber and Tinne, hi!

I saw Bob play Andy tonight and he was great! AND I was rooting for him because everyone was rooting for Andy and I felt like Bob needed more support. I was pretty boisterous and obnoxious too, being like that is so funny because people always look at you. Bob really kept up with Andy! I really thought he was gonna get that first set tiebreak

Well, when I get my photos developped, you guys can tell me which Bryan it was! It was taken at night while he was outside just standing around and I just went up to him and was like hey, can I have a pic with you. So, I could not tell then whether or not he was a lefty or righty! Haha! But I am a lefty, so I hope it was Bob--and I still think it was him, due to the sequence of events that day

Oh my god! You were at that match?!? I'm sooooo green with envy right now! Great you cheered Bob on! You go Mrs Guga! :D

We were following behind our computerscreens going mad, I tell you! I was so proud of Bob! He stayed with Andy the whole match! Way to go Bob! So even though he lost, he still played an awesome match! He should be proud of himself! I'm still pretty extatic... ;) I still prefer seeing Mike and Bob in doubles, but they are having some fabulous singles too!

And do I sense a bit of liking towards Bob in your enthousiasm? Mmm, is he winning you over with his incredible charm and charisma and of course his fabulous game... ;)

Oh and about that pic... yeah, it would be kinda difficult to tell wether he was right or left... sorry... :D But Amber and I will be more than happy to help you out with that! ;)

Arg! Still green with envy... You lucky girl!

Okay just let me know then! :)

Hey, and don't feel bad about Bob! He played awesome! Remember he was playing Andy Roddick, #5 in the race, the guy who is on a pretty hot streak lately and Bob doesn't play that much singels.....

It's true that Brad Gilbert is a great change for Andy, but Phillip Farmer is doing the same for the bros! This fresh new breeze is exactly what they needed!

Roddick: "If he [Bob Bryan] takes a couple of months off of doubles and concentrates on singles, he could be a solid singles player. He played like a Top 35-40 singles player in the world tonight. I was very impressed the way he played out there. He just doesn't play singles enough."

Woooo!

Wow, lots to respond to today! :D

First of all, Mrs. Guga you are killing me! I can't believe you were at that match! I would have done anything to be there to see Bob play Andy! You are so lucky! And I think Tinne is right, your opinion seems to be changing! I knew those fabulous boys of ours could change your mind! They're very good at winning over fans! lol (Wow, lots of exclamation points in there. lol)

As for MSN, yes Leo, you should join us sometime. We have an absolutely fantabulous time chatting during the guys matches! :D

Bob must have played just fantastic to stick with Andy that well. I'm so proud of him and his singles results lately! Hopefully he will get more wild cards and be able to play more. It's just not fair, everyone says he needs to play more singles, but how is he supposed to when he goes deep in the doubles draw practically every week and can't make it to qualifying? Huh? Can anyone answer me that question? Give the boy wild cards and he'll play! Come on! (whoa, soapbox! lol)

Ummm...go Mike tonight against Max Mirnyi! I'd love to see him take out the Beast. Especially since he and Mahesh can be such a pain in the doubles draw! ;) lol

Can't wait to see how the guys do in Montreal next week. They need to defend all those points and the title, of course! :D I'd love to see back to back Masters Series wins, wouldn't you?! lol Course, if I had to choose between Montreal and Cincinnati...well, of course I'd be selfish and say Cinci because I'd be there to cheer them on! Woooo! One more week! Yay! :D

GO MIKE! GO MIKE!! GO GO GO MIKE!!! :D

Wow, so much to respond to. Like Amber and Tinne, I am very jealous of Mrs. Guga for getting to watch Andy vs. Bob! Can't wait to see your picture although I'll probably have to leave it to the girls to decipher if it was Mike or Bob. Anyway, this match certainly looked like a great encounter between two of America's finest. Bobby should be proud of his effort. :) Mike also lost in singles, 1 and 3 to Max Mirnyi. But this is not too disappointing for me because The Belarusian Beast is one of my favorite players as well and I am hoping for him to win his 2nd singles title this week in DC. But still a good effort for Mike to make it to Thursday in the singles draw considering his recent injury and lack of singles experience! *Applause for the brothers* :D

So now the biggest title defense of their careers (so far) comes up next week in Canada. Good luck, Mike and Bob! I am glad they will just be concentrating on the dubs next week and can put singles on hold temporarily.

Amber, you're going to Cincy?! Ugh, I envy you too! :fiery:

:bigclap::bigclap::bigclap::bigclap::bigclap:
to Mike and Bob! They had a great singles week!

Too bad about Mike..... Would have loved to see him take out the beast! :D But Maxie is a very though opponent....

I hope they can pick up the doubles again this week with succes and thrash some teams to take that title for the second straight time!
Oh and Amber, I'd love to see them win Cincy too! Would be fabulous for you girls to be there.... but why choose, they can win both if it was up to me... :D

And I have to say this: (thank you Amber for bringing it to my attention):
did you read that comment Andy gave Bob after their match? Well here it is again just in case:
"I told him to cut this [crap] out with all the doubles and give yourself a couple of months to just play singles, because you can do it"
Crap? Doubles? Crap!?! Very very :fiery::fiery::fiery: at Andy!!!
It's very nice of Andy to say that Bob did great and that he could be a really good singles player. Wich I totally agree with! But doubles is crap?!? *kicks Andy in the shins once again* I LOVE doubles! Especially Mike and Bob doubles... :D

#173 ·
Yeah, people (and most players) don't give doubles the respect it deserves. Dubs is a fine art, and Mike and Bob are two of the best artists out there on the court. :D

Hey. I'm on vacation right now, so I can't type anything long. I won't get my photos developped until after I get back on Thursday.

I just wanted to say that I never hated the Bryans or anything--I just never cared for them. :D But now I definitely think they are cool! I also have a picture with Mardy, Thomas Blake, and these two great American qualifiers I met. They were all very nice, but the Bryan brother was one of the nicest people who took a photo with me of all the players I took photos with because I have pics with other players, and I was happy he was decent to me! Some players like Gonzo and Mardy were a bit, um, lifeless. Hahaha
