NRL ROUND EIGHT

* It's rare that a $1.25 favourite stands out as value, but I feel that price which is offered for the Cowboys to beat the Roosters is pretty generous!!

The Cowboys will be hell bent on making amens for last weekend's surprise slip-up, but even without that factor, the ridiculous scheduling won't do the Roosters any favours whatsoever. They'll have just a four day turnaround from a bruising and emotionally draining clash against the Dragons.

Cowboys at $1.25 represent good "banker" value in a weekend multi.

* The Dragons will also do it very tough for the reasons mentioned above, when they tackle the Storm in Melbourne. The hosts have had a bit of fortune on the injury front, with halfback Cronk and the white-hot Greg Ingliss both likely to suit up. The Dragons meantime will miss Ryles, Naiqama, Young, Gorrell and possibly Head due to injuries. Despite all that, the Storm have still been afforded two and a half points start at home.

* The Brisbane v Canberra clash could present a nice 'under' play on the total game points if the total is set in the mid to high 40's. All seven of Brisbane's games have gone under the set total this season, while Canberra are methodical plodders.

Re: NRL ROUND EIGHT

Yep mate the Storm and Cowboys look good things this weekend. It's hard to see the Roosters and Dragons having enough time to fully recover from their slogging battle in the rain yesterday especially when you consider the injury lists both squads have.

I also like NZ this weekend. They looked pretty good last weekend against Souths, while the Dogs were absolutely dreadful against Manly last Sunday. Will be back closer to the weekend for some more chat.

Cheers,

Sparks

Re: NRL ROUND EIGHT

That is a HORRIBLE line for the Melbourne-St George. What the hell have the Dragons done that has made them worthy of favourtism against the Storm in Melbourne. Get on that price now because I guarantee you it wont be near the same come the weekend. Im pretty sure the Storm will be favourites at other sportsbooks.

Is Mini playing for the chooks this weekend? If he isn't I wouldn't even think twice about taking the Boys ATS let alone the ML

Re: NRL ROUND EIGHT

Mini has been named at Fullback and they have only named 17 players in the squad so for the time being I would say he is playing. If I hear that they are taking a travelling reserve I will post it here.

Flamb i thought you would have the AFL aswell with Bombers comin of 4 day break against me Hawks who's off 9 days rest!!!

Yeah Cowboys at home are unstoppable especially when the Roosters dont have much rest,Cowboys should topple 40+ imo and maybe break the 50!!
Stroms look real good against the Dragons, theyre onsong atm n playin incredible footy like in the middle of last yr!!!!Crocker seems to be a great pic up by them, toughen them up in the middle!!!Brisbane/Canberra game i do remember slightly last yr when the Broncos got up cos i was on the damn Raiders at that time,Unders does look good in this game!!!

Warriors do like playin the Doggies n do matchup well against them!!Dogs forward need to pic this game up or the NZ pack will run amok, but insayin so Dogs comin off embarassing loss could spell trouble for NZ!!!Havent looked at where the game is or the odds yet!!

You would think Mini is playing, which will help the odds for the Cowboys n hopefully the public will get on Chooks due to Mini's inclusion!!!

Re: NRL ROUND EIGHT

Looked at this weeks games n there are some absolute beauties, punting wise!!!I feel a few will be most likely plays n confident about them, will look into it abit more with h2h n previous encounters!!!Like Andrew said better get on soon b4 some odds drop!!!

Strong Leans-[/B]

Storms ML 1.88
Cowboys -10.5

Meduim-

Knights -4.5
(Cant believe this line after the nights got an absolute hammering n the look of Hagan's face said it all!!!!!Hope its not a setup),cos Knights do like playing the Bunny's!!!

Manly -2.5pts (Same again cant believe the line)

Sharks +3.5pts (Sharks look like they got their act together, while theres some injuries in Penrith, also John Lang going next yr seems to be bother them since they dont seem to be switch on consistantly esepcially with that side)

Bulldogs +0.5 pts ( I was thinking Warriors but then again the Dogs coin off a embarassing loss n also they seem to play better agaisnt the Warriors in NZ for some strange reason, but most of the game have been close, can see this one to be honest going 1-12 either way!!!

Re: NRL ROUND EIGHT

Don't think you could get a safer bet this weekend than the Cowboys X Broncos X West Coast @ $1.50 .. for added value you could throw in another 'certainty' such as the Hurricanes in Super 14 ..

Manly minus the start and at head to head looks good too .. Storm are the head to head value pick of the round at $1.95 to beat the injury hit dragons at home (pending Cooper Cronk's availability though) and the Cowboys 13+ for those who like to flirt with margins!
