AFL Round 16

Starting this thread early, trying to get some input into some of the games before the bounce this Friday.

Friday July 20
GEE V WBD
For some reason I really like the bulldogs here. The bulldogs have beaten Geelong three out of the last four meeting at Dome. Geelong in seating pretty on top two game clear of second place Hawk. There is more for the bulldogs to play for here, a lost could see them dropping outside the eight. Maybe take the points for insurance.

Saturday July 21
COL V ESS
Always a tight clash between these two sides. like Collingwood to get up here but it won't be easy.

ADE V FRE
If Adelaide don't win, don't bother playing final thats all I can say.

WCE V SYD
Very intriguing match here. Both side have everything to play for and if either team lose, they could be out of the eight by the end of the week. I like the Eagle to get up here. It was 1.85 but has drop to 1.70 on the TAB. Jump on it early as I expect will drop more if you like the Eagle like I do. I expect cousin and Judd to play. Judd will probably spend most of his time alround half forward away from the pack. I expect Kerr, Fletcher, Hanson and Butler to also play if they are all fit. There are rumours that Barry Hall might not take his place in the line up but I expect him to play, Sydney will need him to play a good game if they are to win, and is not going to be easy against Glass. They are going to miss Kennelly running the ball out of half back if he does not play. He is rated a 50-50 chance

STK V HAW
St Kilda looks the good in the past couple of weeks. The forwards have been functioning well. They show some characters after being jumped in the first quarter and slowly crawled their way back to win the game. I expect Hawks should get up here and show them why they are currently second on the ladder. St Kilda have had the edge over them as of late but watch for the Hawks to run them off their feet in the last half.

Sunday July 22

BL V CAR
Lions should get up here. Fevola will probably kick a bag and Carlton will still lose

RIC V PA
Port will win by 60+ if Richmond played the way they did against the Hawks

KAN V MEL
Kangaroo to win comfortably

Conolly should have left a while ago.

I pity any coach who goes to Fremantle. It would be a shit club to coach. Shit culture.

Re: AFL Round 16

my preview :

Friday, 20st July EST
Geelong vs. Western Bulldogs Telstra Dome (Night) 7:40 PM
I like the WB with the points , good record at TD this season (from memory 5-1) .. Geelong are overdue , escaped last week against pies

Saturday, 21st July EST
Collingwood vs. Essendon MCG (Day) 2:10pm
Always tight. but essendon losing the last 4 ATS can't trust them . Fletcher is back .. but pies are due for a big sometime and that could be their chance.
Pies to cover -17.5 (biased being Pies supporter)

Adelaide vs. Fremantle AAMI Stadium (Day) 3:10pm
Connolly resigns .. last year Freo won in Adelaide in prelim . Freo with the points

St. Kilda vs. Hawthorn Telstra Dome (Night) 7:10pm
we all remember the ugly low scoring game this year. that was in MCG . can the hawks be that good all year ..this is TD..can be high scoring.. taking saints ML

West Coast vs. Sydney Subiaco (Night) 7:40pm
WC ML . full stop. (hoping that they can rest Judd too as he is becoming a liability)

Sunday, 22nd July EST
Brisbane Lions vs. Carlton Gabba (Sun Early) 1:10pm
Cartlon +31.5 .. i think not much difference between the two. except the ground

Richmond vs. Port Adelaide MCG (Day) 2:10pm
Port will trash Richmond

Kangaroos vs. Melbourne Telstra Dome (Sun Twilight) 5:10pm
kangaroos are 4-1 at TD .. but -19.5 not sure especially back from Perth

Anyway trying something new (all bets are virtual no real money)

R16 $9 1.91 Western Bulldogs +15.5 vs Geelong
R16 $1 6.25 Western Bulldogs over 24.5

R16 $8 1.91 Collingwood -17.5 vs. Essendon
R16 $2 3.25 Collingwood under 24.5

R16 $8 1.91 Adelaide vs. Fremantle +17.5
R16 $2 5.5 Fremantle under24.5

R16 $8 2 St. Kilda ML vs. Hawthorn
R16 $2 3.6 Hawthorn under 24.5

R16 $10 1.75 West Coast ML vs. Sydney

R16 $9 1.91 Brisbane Lions vs. Carlton +31.5
R16 $1 5 Carlton ML

R16 $8 1.91 Richmond vs. Port Adelaide -20.5
R16 $2 2.7 Port Adelaide over 39.5

R16 $7 1.91 Kangaroos vs. Melbourne +19.5

It's Richo's 250th game this weekend, for some reason have a feeling this season has been good for those who have backed teams celebrating player/coach milestones?

Sandilands OUT which is a massive loss for the Dockers. They need to win clearances to be any chance of beating the Crows and I don't like their chances without their big guy in the ruck. Farmer is also out and facing a new controversy so my money is on the Crows and probably to cover.

Forget history... this is a right here, right now play!

Re: AFL Round 16

Fremantle will beat Adelaide.

Adelaide are overrated.

Is the total too high for tonight's match? I'm concerned it won't reach that. I'm thinking it may reach 210.

Bulldogs to cover +15.5

Good luck!

Sydney will beat West Coast.

Sydney +3.5 is a good bet too. I see this being a 1 or 2 pointer.

Re: AFL Round 16

Bulldogs to beat Geelong $50 at under 39.5 at $3.40
Bulldogs +15.5 $150 at $1.95

Geelong have won 10 on the trot and looking to extend it to 11. There is that revenge factors from rd 1 also which makes it hard to bet against them.

But my heart say to play the Bulldogs. They match up well against the cats and they play well at the dome. I just hope that they have their kicking boots on and give their small forwards a chance. Watch for Akermanis to give them a little boost from the wing.

Re: AFL Round 16

Geelong are the best team in the comp, by far. Put the Swans and West Coast together and Geelong are still better. They are this years premiership winners.

Anyway

Collingwood V Essendon - Over 188.5

Fremantle +19.5

Hawthorn ML

Sydney +6.5

Sydney V West Coast - Over 146.5 - total is too low IMO. Their last 3 games have gone over that mark.

Re: AFL Round 16

Brisbane -29.5

Melbourne +19.5

Brisbane over 39.5 points @ $2.28

Freak - how confident are you with your Hawks. I'm thinking of going massive on them.
