Yes, grass is for playing football on.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Machado wins 6-2 6-1

Re: Grass is for footballers – WIMBLEDON 2006

Aren´t the seeding of the players the same as the ATP Rankings?
For example Sebastien GROSJEAN is seeded 15 and Marcos 19 but on the ATP Rankings Marcos is 17 and Grosjean 26.

Wimbeledon is the only tournament that has it's own complicated seed ranking system, that takes into consideration the results of the players on grass. That's why there was talk o Roddick being seeded 2 and Hewitt higher and Henman beeing seeded.
Surprisingly Nadal is the No. 2 seed

Re: Grass is for footballers – WIMBLEDON 2006

Ah..well at least he isn't in Fed's quarter..it seems that most good grass-courters have gathered there..Though he's too close to Roddick..

From the ATP site:
Quote:
Roddick has been elevated to No. 3 seed, despite an INDESIT ATP Ranking of No. 5, on the back of 2004-2005 runner-up finishes and fine performances at Queen’s Club.

The three times Stella Artois champion will meet Serbian Janko Tipsarevic in the first round, with a possible clash with either No. 15 seed Sebastien Grosjean or No. 18 seed Marcos Baghdatis in the fourth round.
