What are your hopes for the rest of Marcos' career?

I doubt anyone frequents this board, but thought I'd start up a new thread anyway. My topic is this - what do you want to see Marcos achieve in the rest of his career?

It's not an understatement to say he hasn't quite lived up to the expectations put on him from his brilliant 2006 form, but is still capable of beating the better players when he is 'on.'

So here's what I hope he manages before he hangs up his racquet...

-Reaches the 3rd round of the US Open for the first time
-Makes the last 16 of a Grand Slam
-Wins at least one title
-Beats a top-5 player (in any tournament)

How about you?

Re: What are your hopes for the rest of Marcos' career?

An update...

-Reaches the 3rd round of the US Open for the first time DONE
-Makes the last 16 of a Grand Slam NOPE
-Wins at least one title NOPE (Challengers don't count)
-Beats a top-5 player (in any tournament) NOPE

I really think Wimbledon this year was his last real chance to make the last 16 of a Grand Slam though, especially considering how the draw has fallen. Depressing stuff, especially the way he folded in the third and fourth sets against Mayer.

Doubt that he will return back to previous form. Hopefully he can manage a few more good tournaments.

Poor Marcos he can't even win CH Tournaments now I'm sorry to say it, but I think he should be thinking of retirement.

I think top 20 and/or GS QF

Marcos Baghdatis Forever!

Through the good and the bad, always my #1, no matter what the rankings say

Re: What are your hopes for the rest of Marcos' career?

Another update...

-Reaches the 3rd round of the US Open for the first time DONE
-Makes the last 16 of a Grand Slam again NOPE, although he was so close at the AO this year
-Wins at least one title NOPE
-Beats a top-5 player (in any tournament) NOPE

Kind of depressing, I didn't think these targets were too unrealistic...

I'm hoping for a kind draw at Wimbledon this year, but I have a strange feeling that he'll get a top seed in the first round. Hopefully that feeling turns out to be incorrect though...

I've been having that same feeling for a while now, since he hasn't been seeded in a slam for a while now...
