I'll be in Rome and Roland Garros - and probably Munich too So I'll report in whenever I can. Currently considering a weekend in Monte Carlo too, but not sure if that will happen yet.

One of the great things about living in London is that all these European clay events are very close And even though I obviously can't go all the time because of work, I can usually manage several long weekends, plus I always go to the first week of RG

I don't expect too much from him to be honest. I guess we'll have to hope for him to be seeded as often as possible to avoid tough opponents in the early rounds.

He's gonna be seeded in MC, sth. like 26-28.

I thought there were only 16 seeds in Monte Carlo

Re: ~Clay Court Season: Marcos in Monte Carlo, Rome, Munich, Madrid, and Paris~

Marcos is 16th seed. Here is His section of the draw:-

[4] Marin Cilic (CRO) bye
Igor Andreev (RUS) - [WC] Simone Bolelli (ITA)
Olivier Rochus (BEL) - Andreas Seppi (ITA)
Albert Montanes (ESP) - [16] Marcos Baghdatis (CYP)

Sadly I won't be going to MC - can't get the time off work next week and it's too expensive just for a weekend. So I'll be watching on TV - and see my next live tennis in Rome.

Good luck Marcos

True In fact a load of these so-called "clay court specialists" are heavy stuff........... a bit like wading through treacle to watch them play. So maybe I'm better off at work next week anyway, and go to Rome where the clay is marginally faster.

Re: ~Clay Court Season: Marcos in Monte Carlo, Rome, Munich, Madrid, and Paris~

I saw the match on TV. It really wasn't so good at all in my opinion

Montanes was solid, but he really didn't have to do too much except keep the ball in play Marcos didn't seem to move well at all on the clay - he was always a little slow to the ball, and he seemed to lose patience very quickly in the long rallies and tried to end things too quickly. Hopefully he now has almost 2 weeks to get used to the surface and will put on a better performance in Rome.
