What do you think about implementing Wild Cards in the tournaments??

P.e Nygel and Aguante_el_Gato have to play quallies in Buenos Aires CH. next week... I think we can reserve 4 places or less to natives players from the country, where the tournament is played......... It`s a suggestion...

It's an interesting suggestion but I think it would cause too many arguments and create accusations of bias about who deserves them.

In Buenos Aires CH. of course not...
But in 2007, at least 2 spots reserved to people from the tournament`s country who doesn`t sign out in the first 26 spots...
This 2 spots can be used by normal players (like SE) if nobody use them.....
26 direct entry + 2 WC + 4 qualy............

Re: Tennis Tipping Suggestions/Questions Thread

Well how in that case they are actually from Argentina... but I play for Serbia and I'm not Serbian. Would I then qualify to get a WC to the Belgrade challenger and then I could change my flag to any other country and ask for WCs for those tournaments. I mean.. lots of TT players play for countries that aren't really their own and I don't know what would make them deserve WCs for those.

In the case you mentioned it really is their own country, but I could see it getting messy.

Troicki - Djokovic - Del Potro - Kyrgios - Berankis
Cibulkova - Robson - Kirilenko - Azarenka
Retired but always loving Ferrero - Ancic - Kiefer

Balloon has picked up on the biggest point here. There are alot of players here who are not from countries where tournaments take place. Therefore a majority of the players would be at an unfair disadvantage.

Yes. Also certain countries host far more tournaments than other. Think of the advantage an American (IW, Miami, Cincinnati, US Open and a host of IS) would have other say a Chilean (Vina del Mar).

Depending on how tournament entry works next year using SE may be an option.

One way you could use a SE or WC is if you are defending a singles or doubles title. That would work

2006 Costa Do Sauipe singles
