Re: Tennis Tipping Suggestions/Questions Thread

I don't like 1 and 3. With the first solution, TMC would be too short for half of the players. And about the third, final round would have dead matches, what would turn the game less exciting.
I've thought about suggesting solution 2 before, but final match of Round 3 and first of SFs would be played in the same day.
I like solution four. More action to more players. But other managers/players may have different opinions.

Re: Tennis Tipping Suggestions/Questions Thread

I like 1) and 4) the best

1) might the most logical solution, but on the other hand in my opinion 4) is the most exiting concept for the players (maybe less TB's in the first 3 rounds and more playing days for everybody...)

To me 3) isn't even an option, cutting the semifinal off doesn't make sense, it would make the TMC unrealistic and the ranking point system would be messed up.

2) has problems too with matches ending in the middle of the playing day and the semis might be a bit problematic...

just my 2 cents, let's see what others think

Re: Tennis Tipping Suggestions/Questions Thread

One more thought, TMC RR matches 10,11,12 are often quite meaningless matches with both players already out of the tournament, are they good enough matches to decide the TT semis?

2) TMC RR matches 10,11 & 12 = TT SF

4) TMC SF = TT SF

It's official that TMC starts in a Sunday and have 8 days, so I don't think that director of tournament put only a match in one of the RR days. So all of RR days have 2 matches.

My prefer go to solution 4.
4 picks in each TT match of RR, it's more fair to select TT semifinalists.
Less picks in semis and final, but I think that is the best solution.

One question: It's so stupid pick only SF and Final of doubles?

Predict a macth like Brian Brothers vs Mirniy/Bjorkman sounds like good. And more 3 picks...

LUSO TÉNIS - Ténis português

FREDERICO GIL - RUI MACHADO - GASTÂO ELIAS - LEONARDO TAVARES
MICHELLE LARCHER DE BRITO - NEUZA SILVA - FREDERICA PIEDADE - MARIA JOÃO KOEHLER - MAGALI DE LATTRE

GASTÃO ELIAS
MICHELLE LARCHER DE BRITO

Re: Tennis Tipping Suggestions/Questions Thread

I like them all apart from nr. 3
Probably nr 2 is my favourite as it gives the same number of games per match , but 1 & 4 would be acceptable formats as well.

Re: Tennis Tipping Suggestions/Questions Thread

I am sorry I haven't read through the thread.

Is there another way or a suggestion to decide matches that are tied besides going with the player that is higher ranked?

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Tennis Tipping Suggestions/Questions Thread

I have thought another solution for TMC

8 players are put in 2 groups and the tip for all the group matches
the first ranked from each group play the final picking the semis and final of TMC

We've never found an acceptable solution - that's why 2 tb's were introduced in the first round to try and minimise the amount of times this is likely to happen. Ranking is only ever used as a last resort after all other possibilites have been used (tb and cb). If you've got any ideas, please bring them up

I have got 2 months to come up with something, but it is the worst way to lose or win a match.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I think both of you should have to put those inflatable sumo wrestling suits on and battle it out for a place in the next round

We are in day 2, and Finally I will be the loser using the TB2 of day 1, even being a TB2 that will not be considered, and that I had gained (28: 11)
I suggest that, in the days in which exists a TB2 , to used it before using the previous day results.

Thnaks for your work!!

the thing here is that, there shouldn't have been a TB2 in the second round, TB2 should only be used in the first round
