Re: Ask the board Thread

Most managers are willing to accept provisional picks for the final stages. If you sent your picks for the SF and would be missing for both days of the final you could send your picks for day 1 in the form:-
If AvC then C
If BvC then B
If AvD then D
If BvD then B
If EvG then E
If EvH then E
If FvG then F
If FvH then H

and for day 2
If AvE then E
If BvE then B
If CvE then E
If DvE then E
and so on.

It would be a bit complicated any earlier than the last 2 days, and would always be at the manager's discretion.

Please do not ask your partner to log in for you and do your picks. If found out you would both risk a ban, not just from TT but from MTF.

Re: Ask the board Thread

We're approaching the deadline for next week's challengers and play has just begun in Wimbledon. It is possible that for some players it is not clear, whether or not they are advancing to R4 in singles or R3 in doubles at that point.
My question: Are really only these players out, who who reach these rounds? Or also these, whose games are not finished at the deadline?

EDIT: Nevermind.

TT Singles Ranking current/high: 43/15 - Doubles Ranking current/high: 27/27

Re: Ask the board Thread

Sorry for another question but the doubles WTF confuses me

The top 16 in the race qualify,

do they then decide between themselves who the pairings will be?

Tennis Tipping:
Singles: 159
Doubles: 140
Doubles titles:
Itajai CH 2014 w/Redkop

Re: Ask the board Thread

I am a little bit confused with the doubles ranking system. If for example I lost in Roland Garros doubles qualifying first round and in TT points it is said that:

Code:
TT RANKING POINTS

W....1000
F....700
SF...450
QF...250
R16..150
R32..75
R64..35
R128.5
Q....20
QR2..13
QR1..6
I should receive 6 points or I am wrong? In almost all the tournaments where you loose on First Round you don't get any points, but in GS you get points even if you loose in first round, is that correct?

An extra question: sometimes doubles MD starts directly in the R16 round. If you loose in this first round, you get 0 points or the points that you would bet for example if you loose in the R16 round of singles (in Challengers 9 points I think)?

Greetings

Tennis Tipping #27d - Congratulations to dannyrafter and abollo/Holmzy

Can this be counted as a (late) commitment to the tournament?

This player is ALT in Portoroz CH and sent the picks for the final round (4 players from the qualy didn´t send yet)

You receive 6 points if you won Qualifying First Round, 13 points if you won QR2 and you receive 20 points if you Qualify or that is the same won QR3. You don't receive any points if you lose in QR1.

And about your another question I think that you receive 9 points, but it will be better that you ask to Gavnich77 in the Rankings Thread, he have to know that

Re: Ask the board Thread

Garlichead commited first to my tournament (Portoroz) and then (yesterday) in the Timisoara CH. He sent his picks for both managers, MathMul didn´t accept, but I accept because my tournament was the first that he commited. Was the best decision? I played the qualy as ALT, because 3 players from the qualy did´nt send.

Btw, I had 4 matches (final qualy round) and very people didn´t send, so I had 4 spots for 3 matches....What I do with the fourth spot? Best loser of the 3 matches?

Thanks,

Zé Pedro

Yes you are right, I didn't understand the table. It is in the MD points where you receive 5 points if you loose in the first rounds (I think that this happens only in GS, in the other tournaments you don't get points), not in the qualies.

Muchas gracias I will ask the second question to Gavnich77 by PM.

Saludos.

I would say definitely not. It would be unfair to those who "won" with the original OOP
Picking strategy for day 1/2 could be completely different from day 1/1.

Re: Ask the board Thread

Yeah I also see this point. I want to be sure and asked here because of this. In Portoroz it is the problem that the only R2 match with many diffs is void as an LL is playing. So we'll have many decisions on PTS...

And PtS in r2 = 1 match. It s a special case but the tournament is early on the schedule of play so it s easy to add matches. I think every player will understand .
