You should send to both managers ;

If you are playing singles and sent only to double manager your picks won't count

Re: Ask the board Thread

All right I'll start out in both Singles and Doubles in Miami so my picks will go to both managers. But if I lose in Singles, would my picks then just go to the manager in charge of Doubles? And, of course, the other way around if I lose in Doubles would my picks then just go to the manager of Singles? Or do I continue to send my picks to both managers as long as I'm in the TT?

Re: Ask the board Thread

I have a question. I lost in first round of singles in Indian Wells and I'm still playing doubles. According to the rules if I win today my first round in doubles - I can't play Dallas CH next week. So do I have some other options to play in Dallas except losing in doubles today - like withdrawing from IW after the match if we win today or in that case do I have to withdraw now?

Re: Ask the board Thread

My partner in TT was banned today, do I still get the points for making the QuarterFinals in Dallas? If not, that would suck.

You would get the points for up to the round that you have reached.

Re: Ask the board Thread

all, apologies if answers to these are elswehere, but i didn't see anything in the rules or FAQ threads. long time WTA TT player, but wanting to start playing MTF TT also and my fiancee will want to play with me as a doubles partner. 2 questions - (1) i'm not tech savvy so this is probably dumb, but we will likely be sending from the same computer on a regular basis - would there be any concerns about the sending from same IP address issue mentioned elsewhere? and (2) on TF, you need 3 months of membership and 100 posts to start playing, is that the case here, also? She registered for an account already but hasn't posted and wants to know if she should start getting her total up now.

Thanks!

Re: Ask the board Thread

Hi Rob,

Nice to see you here

It's not the same as WTF - you don't have to have 3 months membership or 100 posts to play, you can just dive straight in.

With regards to the IP address issue - mention it to an Admin - one of Carlita, RagingLamb, scoobs, SloKid or Snowwy

Re: Ask the board Thread

I had someone ask if they could be an ALT in Le Gosier as they were eliminated from Miami today. Just wondering what the ruling on this would be?

Re: Ask the board Thread

I want to play Le Gosier if I lose in saturday, I think its fair. If you are in the qualies you cant play Le Gosier, but if you are in the main draw you can. Why did you change the rule? So if you lose saturday you must stop one whole week? Do you think this is fair?

The old way managers could not make draws properly.
On Sunday, qualifying started and there was a full 16 player qualifying draw but people in Miami main draw were still in (just in case they lost) but if they won then they would be removed and then we have too many open spots and lucky losers. I had 7 lucky losers once in one of my tournaments. It was a mess. Then the #1 seed in qualifying who should have been in the main draw, lost in qualifying because we had to wait to see if players lost in Miami or not. That is unfair and too much inconsistency.

So it was voted in the off-season that the Saturday cut off is the cut-off for the qualies and main draw. This way there is fixed entry list and the tournament is fair.

Re: Ask the board Thread

I still think the other rule was more entertaining and cool. Losing on saturday and not playing the next week seems very odd. The main problem is on Miami and Indian wells, because GS has less OUTS.

Re: Ask the board Thread

I think it's fairer rule for managers then it is for just players to be sure.. Keeping track of everyone in is not that easy esp. if TT isn't your main priority ( compared to real life it just can't be.)

Plus, now lower ranked players won't be freaked to decommit when they find themselves in ALT.. I remember I wanted to leave Dallas a few weeks ago but then a bunch were out and I got to play.

Anyway, rule ain't gonna change til the offseason if at all.
