I'm glad so many of you joined in!! Thanks Martin for managing this, the idea is mine but you're going to make it possible. And thanks Adey who has offered to help in any way he can even without liking football.

By the way, I'm preparing a Suicide Euro 2012, I'll post in the link breifly.
YES

I don't post on any football forums, this is the only forum I post on and I know people here so I'd much rather play a game against all these lovely people that I play Tennis Tipping with against every week

Great idea to run this tournament

Can I also say that Martin and Sergio asked me to assist here by doing interviews for this event. I've sent out interview requests to everyone - and in the space of 2.5 hours I've already had 16 back

You can contact me on my TF Account or adriancollins@hotmail.com. I rarely log on here anymore as became TF Admin.

I thought that guessing the exact result of a match is way more difficult than guessing the winner, that's why I gave 3 points for that instead of 2.

You just have to look at the betting fares. Normally, results for the exact result give 3 or 4 times the profit than only picking the winner.

But any suggestion is welcome, of course.
Of course I understand the idea, it's just that it's a huge difference between a 2-0 and a 2-1, for example, so you can actually lose a match even if you guess every single winner right and your opponent guesses less than half of the correct winners. With 2 points for the correct result, you can still compete even if your opponent guesses more scores right. With 3, it's basically a competition between who guesses more scores right, so we could just give one point for the correct score and 0 for anything else, having number of correct winners as a tiebreak.

I can assure you 2 points for the exact result works very well in our brazilian game

TT Palmarès

Finals: Fürth CH '11, Orleans CH '11, Petange CH '12, TT Euro '12 (w/Vilnietè)

SF: Australian Open '12, Memphis '12

Re: Tennis Tipping Euro 2012 - 7 more players need to have 64 draw tournament

An idea for the scoring system:

Maybe have 2 points for the correct result, 1 point for correct number of goals per team and 1 point for correct goal difference

For example:

Match between teams X and Y

Player A guesses X wins 2-0
Player B guesses X wins 2-1
Player C guesses draw 0-0
Player D guesses draw 1-1
Player E guesses Y wins 1-0
Player F guesses Y wins 4-3
Player G guesses X wins 3-1

Real result X wins 3-1

A gets 3 points (correct result, correct goal difference)
B gets 3 points (correct result, correct number of goals for Y)
C gets 0 points (wrong result, wrong number of goals)
D gets 1 point (correct number of goals for Y)
E gets 1 point (correct number of goals for Y)
F gets 1 point (correct number of goals for X)
G gets 5 points (correct result, correct number of goals for both teams and correct goal difference)

I understand that would result in an automatic 3 points for a draw, but draws are harder to call anyway IMO.

I just think that the fact that amount of goals scored per either team is a really important factor when calling games, as is goal difference.

The system and the amount of points per every right guess can be changed, of course.

Sorry if it's confusing or I messed up how many points each player should get, at one point, I got confused with it myself

I'd prefer to have a scoring more similar to TT.
Just the number of correct winners is counted, and only if this is tied, the results are considered. For those results I like the 4-3-2 system (4 points for the correct result, 3 points for the correct goal difference, 2 points for the correct winner; not cumulative).

That sounds like a great idea, way less complicated than mine.
