Re: Tennis Tipping Euro 2012 - 14 more players need to have 64 draw tournament

12 more

I'm thinnking scores to be like grand slam 1:0 2:0 3+:0, 2:1, 3+:1, 3+:2, 0:0, 1:1, 2:2, 3+:3+.
Also we will use same rules as tennis tipping, if both players choose loser, winner will be who give more goals to loser. Maybe we can use same scoring system like football, 3 points for win, 1 draw and 0 for loser, or to use WTF finals formula, I'm waiting to opinions and suggestion

I remind you all that you have several Euro 2012 games you might want to play:

Euro 2012 MTF game (like FITD):

Euro 2012 MTF Game - Nikki♥ (Spain) vs. Har-Tru (Italy)

Suicide Football Euro 2012:

Suicide Football - Euro 2012

Euro 2012 starts this Friday at 6PM CEST so don't forget to sign up before play starts.

Cheers.

Re: Tennis Tipping Euro 2012 - 14 more players need to have 64 draw tournament

8 spots remaining

And this will be rules.

I was thinking about a system:

- 3 points for correct score (A wins B 2:1)
- 1 point for correct winners (A draws with B, no matter the score)
- 0 points if nothing correct

Add the points from all matches and you have the final score. In the first round, there can be a draw in the final score, so if there is a draw in the match, no problem.

For example for 1st round matches:
Poland - Greece
Russia - Czech Republic
Netherlands - Denmark
Germany - Portugal

Player A:
Draw 1:1
Russia 2:1
Netherlands 2:0
Draw 2:2

Player B:
Poland 1:0
Russia 2:0
Draw 0:0
Germany 2:1

Real results:
Greece 2:1
Russia 1:0
Netherlands 2:0
Germany 1:0

Final score:
PlayerA: 0 + 1 + 3 + 0 = 4
PlayerB: 0 + 1 + 0 + 1 = 2

PlayerA wins 4:2, so he gets 3 points for his victory and PlayerB gets 0 points.
If after the 3 group matches two or more teams are tied, the score between the teams will decide the winner.
If still tied, the overall goal difference.
If still tied, the one who has more goals.
If still tied, the one who has more correct scores (3 points)
If still tied, ranking.

In the knockout stages, if two teams tie, we can have a tie-break system like this:

- The player who has more correct scores, wins.
- If tied, the player who guesses the correct number of goals scored by a team gets +1, even if he does not guess the score correctly.
- If tied, ranking decides.

Example (knock-out stage):
Poland - Greece
Russia - Czech Republic
Netherlands - Denmark
Germany - Portugal

Player A:
Draw 1:1
Russia 2:1
Netherlands 2:0
Draw 2:2

Player B:
Draw 1:1
Russia 2:0
Portugal 1:0
Germany 2:1

Real results:
Greece 2:1
Russia 1:0
Netherlands 2:1
Germany 1:0

Final score:
PlayerA: 0 + 1 + 1 + 0 = 2
PlayerB: 0 + 1 + 0 + 1 = 2

Both are tied with correct scores (0) so it goes to number of goals:

PlayerA: 1 (correct goals from Poland) + 1 (correct goals from Netherlands) = 2
PlayerB: 1 (correct goals from Poland) + 1 (correct goals from Czech Republic) + 1 (correct goals from Portugal) = 3

So PlayerB wins 2:2 (Goals 3:2)

Awesome, sounds like a great format . Are the groups going to be of 4 or more?

Re: Tennis Tipping Euro 2012 - 14 more players need to have 64 draw tournament

Actually me and some friends have exactly the same game running all over the year, with each round being 8 games from all over the world. The only difference is that exact result gives you 2 instead of 3 points. That might actually be something to think of, 3 points for an exact result might be a bit too much.

TT Palmarès

Titles: Astana 2 CH '11, Challenger Tour Finals '11, Kuala Lumpur '12 (w/Dudisela75), Bressuire Futures '13 (w/Marita)

Finals: Fürth CH '11, Orleans CH '11, Petange CH '12, TT Euro '12 (w/Vilnietè)

SF: Australian Open '12, Memphis '12

Actually Marto has copy-pasted the format I had suggested to him by PM, so I'm going to answer this.

I thought that guessing the exact result of a match is way more difficult than guessing the winner, that's why I gave 3 points for that instead of 2.

You just have to look at the betting fares. Normally, results for the exact result give 3 or 4 times the profit than only picking the winner.

But any suggestion is welcome, of course.
