E-Mail has always been and still is an acceptable alternative method of sending. It is there to be used as an alternative method of sending when for whatever reason someone can’t send through MTF. I don’t think it’s used that often and I think we would have to look at that if someone was continually sending picks by email instead of through MTF.

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers 2012

I feel like I have too many questions but I can't help it...

I have a tie in the final of Cividino F.
On the first day on the final there were no diffs (and only SR matches)
On the second day, one of the players didn't submit any pick and the other one had a completely wrong pick (wrong winner, wrong sets), so when I go to PTS I get 0-0.
Should I go to CB or does the missing pick make any difference in deciding the winner?

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers 2012

I would say CB, because worst pick of the person who didn't send would = to the pick the other person sent.

I'm pretty sure someone will disagree though

I'm sure this happened once before but I can't remember what we did .

CB seems like the correct answer so go with that.

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers 2012

I have a situation in doubles where countback is required. PTS1 in the Final Round qualifying solved nothing.

However one of the teams involved had a bye in the First Round and didn't send picks.
Are they penalized via countback because they had a bye? Are teams supposed to always send even if they have a bye?

Yes, they should send when they have bye (only for CB purpose), so it's there fault for not sending picks

Thanks!

I should remember this. Once I got a BYE and I didn't send.

I have to disagree. This is from the FAQ/Guide thread, and is quite clear in my opinion:-

Match deadlines

- Managers will set a deadline at which no more picks will be allowed, even if a point hasn't been played. The deadline will be taken from the official order of play and set at a time when the first match begins where possible. However, managers may occasionally set an earlier deadline at which no more picks will be allowed if their personal circumstances dictate this and plenty of warning is given, attempting to give a window of at least 12 hours for the players to send picks.
- No late picks allowed, even if there are no LLs available. Other player will be given a w/o. If both players don't send, then the match is decided by CB. If it's a first round (main draw or qualifying), their spot in the second round is given to the loser with the best score in the first round. Also 0 points > no picks. In a 2-day round, sending on one day is enough to avoid a walkover.

But it was the second day of a 2 day round and he sent picks on the first day which is the key point in my opinion.

I would argue that if 0 points > no picks then 0 points + x > no picks + x, with x being the day 1 score.

However since Gavnich77 > goldenoldie, I concede

You've maybe got a point but is it any different to a player missing out a pick in the OOP?

No, but than again I would agree with GoldenOldie there, pick goes over no pick. I think the reason why this rule was made, was also because of a final on which somebody didn't send on the second day, because getting 0 points on another day is hard.
I think everybody would agree that taking the effort to pick should be rewarded! So, for sure it would be most fair to let the person who send win!
