The player doesn´t automatically win on PTS 4 (since he could have picked the wrong winner) but if he gets any scoreline or set winner right he wins on that match on PTS

Okay so in my situation SR4 doesn't settle it (Rosol won 62 62 and this wasn't any set score) but SR5 does - pick was Lacko 62 64 and result was 26 62 76.

Can I take that as absolutely confirmed? This was what I suspect was the situation.

Could you please also post PTS4 picks?
When both picked the winner and one player picked PTS the winners comes from that match

So Gav wins on PTS 4 for giving the correct set winner for 1st set

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers 2012

I don't believe it but I have the same situation again.

This time I'm on countback because none of the 11 R2 matches generated any diffs, SRs, or PTS diffs. And I have a situation on R1 CB PTS 2 where one player sent Davydenko 20 (for a PTS match) and the other sent Davydenko 63 64 (Davydenko lost 46 75 46). I assume therefore that the Davydenko 63 64 picker wins for correctly awarding Davydenko the second set?

Yes you are right

It really is a hard tournament with such a small number of differences

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers 2012

Given how difficult it's been to determine winners in some matches, I'd appreciate it if experienced managers would cast an eye on the results in Dubai and let me know if they think I've made any errors. - thanks

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers 2012

I'm not a manager myself, but people must first UNDERSTAND what SR and PTS mean (there is a FAQ thread) and then READ the proper way to send picks. If they don't, the one that has UNDERSTOOD the rules, READ the manager OOP post and SENT correctly should have advantage.

Re: Tennis Tipping Managers 2012

I don't see how a person who doesn't send PTS for all required matches can win mathematically if it comes down to PTS..

The other player will definitely get one set correct somewhere.

picking the full scoreline for only three matches indicated laziness rather then missunderstanding the rules

I've had that happen quite a few times, although it's never happened that those picks have been needed to decide a match - and have been really surprised by some of the people who've sent like that, some are long time players, even had one send a 7-4 7-4 pick.
