Re: TT Complaints and Disciplinary thread

FiBeR, I am at fault for promising to advise you of the board's decisions and then not doing so. For this I apologize.

We decided:-
1. The Houston result would stand.

2. No action would be taken against rvugt, but the matter would be re-opened if and when he wished to manage another tournament.

3. Mistakes by managers which were detrimental to players would continue to be dealt with on a case by case basis.

We spent a great deal of time and effort in discussing #3, trying to come up with a rule which would have general application, but eventually we decided that it would not be possible to cover every conceivable situation in a brief paragraph or two.

You are right that in the end we did nothing, but the decision to do nothing was a conscious and positive one, not the result of any lack of consideration.

Re: TT Complaints and Disciplinary thread

Hi all,

First of all, I really appreciate people who spend their time managing a TT tournament, it must be really hard work and without this work, we wouldn't be able to play this great game.

But when a manager picks a tournament there is a minimum work to be done: Post entry list after first deadline, update Entry List at least 2 or 3 days before tournament starts, post diffs with a reasonable delay, update results...

Manager of Istambul CH, Luinir, has not posted any Entry List until Sunday (only posting Qualy matches on Saturday). When Entry List was published, many people realized they were not playing because of a mistake in the player recount. A new Qualy was made with all those missing players and schedule had to be changed. Then on Tuesday, no diffs were posted until all matches had finished.

I understand that Luinir may have lack of experience managing and people that participated in Istambul CH (including myself) have accepted Luinir's apologies, but next week Izmir CH is going to be managed by Luinir and still no Entry List published!!! I have complained about this in the Izmir CH Thread and had no reply. I think we are going to have the same problem than in Istambul CH and, if it stays like this, no-one will want to enter tournaments managed by Luinir.

Hope this will make Luinir take TT managing more seriously.

Thanks for reading.

I completely support you here... There should be regular EL-updates and so on....
But don't forget, a manager has a real life as well and he may not know he will be busy with other things when he first takes the tournament.....

So in my opinion there are always two sides.... I'm just satisfied that I entered Tashkent....

Well maybe you're not supposed to be managing, IMHO...

Re: TT Complaints and Disciplinary thread

To continue with this, in Izmir, looks like manager Luinir doesn't really want to do things well, saying it's "complicated" to play 2 rounds in Tuesday, when I've always played with all the other managers using 8 real 1st round matches for TT R32 and 8 real 1st round matches for TT R16. This hasn't been a correct managing and I hope I will never play again with this manager, who also only finds funny this absolutely normal and deserved complaining.

Re: TT Complaints and Disciplinary thread

I really got bored with all this whining. If you look at the topic, you can see that we're doing Izmir first round as two days. Firstly, i want to do this in that way but more than one players requests for two-day round, i changed it. It got really childish.

Re: TT Complaints and Disciplinary thread

Also i don't want to see you in my tournaments anymore. I'm always open to arguing. Players requested for it and i changed it. But when players writing here before asking me... I really can't get it. Firstly, i thought it could be complicated but after 2-3 hours i changed my mind. There's not a rule about that also, you know? Probably, no. The decision is mine about that subject.

Re: TT Complaints and Disciplinary thread

TheTSman didn't send his picks for the first round of singles and doubles in Izmir CH. We have two day round for both in singles and doubles first round. I know that if it's a one-day round, it should be changed by LL's or alternates but don't know exacty what to do if it's a two-day round in the first round. Anyone?
